MN - In Retrospective

Hello 😃

Long time no see 😆

I haven't made a topic in the forum (discounting my VM thread 😆) for more than a year now 😲 and when I say topic, if you know me a wee bit (or if you'd just look at my siggy dabba😆) you'll know my topic = topic on MN 😳

So, I was just remembering the interesting lines of dialogue (besides a lot of other things!) that made Mayank and Nupur interesting characters to follow..

If Mayank was sarcastic and witty in his remarks. Nupur was no less, she was humourous and fun in return. That's why Mayank and Nupur were such a hit with their constant nhok jhoks.

They fought and loved with equal passion. Theirs was a story of equals.

I was hoping to post a series of scenes and just rant a bit, you guys are free to add your bit or just silently read on.. 😆 Even if nobody writes here, I'm going to continue ranting until...(well I haven't really set an end date to this !😆 )

Aur Kitni baar giregi aap?

Their first meet was more silent, even though Mayank did say dekhiye mein maidan chodke jane walon mein se nahi hoon. It was not until we heard the line - Girna No. 2, Aur Kitni baar giregi aap - did we really appreciate Mayank Sharma.

How many guys who get to hold a beautiful girl in their arms will say something like that 😆

Dekhiye, Tameez se baat kijiye

*Introducing Nupur Bhushan in the true sense were these words. We had seen her dreaming of her prince charming, we also knew she had the zest for life. What set her apart was her reaction to Mayank. She was neither rude to them nor would she tolerate any rudeness from him.

He did save her twice, yet she would not take a taunt lying down.

Thus started the legendary nhok jhok of Mayank and Nupur!

Love
Divya :)

PS - The series will be continued :)

dekhiye mein maidan chodke jane walon mein se nahi hoon 🤣\

i remember seeing that scene and thinking, he's sucha dork!...who was asking him about his mental strength anyways???...nupur just needed him to use his physical strength to get her outta the bathroom 😆

gosh it was really a battle of wits with these two...i just watched some of their scenes today and felt so good to see an endearing couple once again...all other couples always seem to have some repulsive mushiness to them with those typical ghisse pite dialogues that they mouth...but mayur were something else...i miss them!

My thoughts exactly!! I have never been able to tolerate the so called hot couples of indian telly...the eye locks, heavy dialogues, dramatic scenes(what with the dupatta lehraoing on hero's face😆) etc etc😆 but when it comes to MN...everything is suddenly different for me😳

Aur Kitni baar giregi aap?

when i saw this scene i was like its gonna be the same old repetitive eye lock scene which we get to see in almost all serials🥱 but when Mayank mouthed these words "Aur kitni baar girengi aap" I realised this was MN we are talking about...things are gonna be cliche with them but still they are going to be a class apart

Nice post Myownarea:) looking forward to more!

Wow!!after a long time I am finding an MN topic and that too by one of my fav writers.Nothing better to cheer up the Mayurians.

Mayank's attitude to Nupur each time when she knowingly or unknowingly relied on him,was something entirely new for an Indian telly character. Each time he was there for her.For someone who always had eyes for his textbooks and did not waste a single minute, saving Nupur twice in the most filmy manner and then surprising her again with his 'Girna No.2' line; it confirmed the beginning of a clichd yet most beautiful love story. Their opposite nature complimented their chemistry as they kept nok-jhoking all the time. They completed each other. That was the beauty of their love.

I just had to love this topic...do baatein Divz-ji 'chiruji style'...😆 1, its on MN n another its made by an eternal MN fan...like me😆

"Dekhiye, Main maidaan chodke jaane walon mein se nahin hoon"
Mayank Sharma was a true gentleman...the one who helps a girl but doesn't go typical wid the reasons behind it, like other guys...he respects them but his mild sarcastic ways of letting them know his mindset never leaves him too...ofcourse, it only intrigues Nupur more😆

He always was this confident guy who knew what he was all about...perfect...and carried it off so well...as in studious but not geeky, cool but not wasteful in its name, stylish by just being himself...😍

He knew people were playing pranks on her n when Nupur questioned him if he too had left like others...he states the above...he always got offended if people mis-judged him...

that reminds me his words to Nupur:
"Nupur tum aisa soch bhi kaise sakti ho ki main...MAIN drugs le sakta hoon?"
well Nupur had her own way to calculate his running-from-love theory as drugs...thanks to Uday Bhaiya 😳 🤣
but Mayank knew himself enough and stated for himself..though he hardly went explaining himself ...but his attitude was so cool...'no need to judge me, just remember I am just me...and not what U may want to presume'

Love thy confidence Mayank Sharma 😍

"Dekhiye Tameez se baat kijiye"
now coming to Nupur
if U think that being fimly in anticipation, Nupur would fall in the arms of a guy and would go in the flow just for the sake of it...then Ur in for a correction...this filmy girl only anticipated her HERO, her Raj...(Her Mayank😉😆) and hardly she had given in like a cliche'd Heroine...even to a HEROIC guy...in arms of whom she falls 😎

though their eyes speak, nevertheless..😍❤️.but still it was still time that their characters merged in to bring out their beautiful relationship😳

n her pride with which she says those words is of equal takkar to Mayank...who had must have thought a similar reaction like other girls from Nupur too...but as she said so...he is taken aback a bit and states...
"Generally log help karne par thank you bolte hain"
now he gets to what he must have actually expected...and not what he didn't want from girls in general...😆

okay I drifted a lot...but loved ranting here😆

thanks for the topic Divz 🤗 enjoyed it loads n will keep doing it...m sure😃

I had to comment on this topic😳

Okkk...

First of all Divya ur post made me all soo nostalgic once again...Sighhh!!...Can I ever stop loving Mayur??...The more the see them I more I fall for them!!

Thank you for making this post and making us relive them once again!!!Embarrassed

Now coming to the topic...Hayee The first TFC of Mayur!!...😍

No wonder how many ppl got fida over them when first time they saw this scene...😍

Though it was usual filmy types scene...Girl falling and Boy catching her but Mayur made it unique through their dialouges...😉

Typical Sadu Mayank taunting Nupur..."Aur Kitni baar girengi aap??"😆...Would a boy ever say that to a girl??...But he was THE MAYANK SHARMA...absolutely away from any kind of nonsence stuff

and The Nupur Bhushan...Ek aag..toh doosri chingari😈...She had to answer him back..." Dekhiye tameez se baat kijiye"..😉

and the witty Mayank Sharma returns..."Generally help karne par Thank You bolte hain..warna mujhe bhi koi shauk nahi hai aldkiyon ko men's loo se bahar nikaalne ka".🤣...Awww man!!...One could die million times for those killer looks and witty answers of him😍

So that was the first TFC of Mayur...actually typical mayurEmbarrassed...Just a simple eyelock which already created soo many sparks and the Opposite poles Mayank-NupurEmbarrassed

and hence the Ever-so-handsome the Prince Charming of Nupur Bhushan had arrived to take his princess in his arms and protect her from all the problems...Though unknowingly😉Embarrassed

You nailed it Naina :) Initial impression is a little ho hum 😆 why is he saying something like that while trying to open a door...but then little did we know what a treat we were in for 😆

I agree, a lot of times you just want to shake people up when you watch them on screen and just say..wake up, life isn't only about romance (especially not of the mushy variety 😆 )

Mayur were different and now every other couple has shades of them is a huge compliment to them 😃

Thank you Aastha! :)

Loved your description of a typical couple-Y scenario 😆 I cracked up just imagining the cliches 😆

The funny thing is, the characters -Mayank and Nupur were very unique when the idea was conceived but at some point the makers couldn't fit them in the normal serial space of things, so they tried very hard to fit them into the normal scheme of things with the eye locks and TFCs and the works. Yet, they did make them speak like themselves thus giving a surprisingly warm twist to their scenes.

They were indeed a class apart!

Looking forward to your comments as well! :)
