Oh Archana, I am so impressed. I felt that your last few efforts had reached a plateau of sorts, even though you used new tricks, but in essence I found you were just perfecting your old style, not that is a bad thing since you have set the bar in another galaxy. Like an athlete who wins every race, (think,
Michael Phelps ) every goal he sets himself is achieved, that you wonder has it become like a 'job' for him. You begin to hope that they find a new avenue of adventure,
for adventure even if it leads to misadventures. I just wanted something that inspired you to 'play.'
Archana, in these two vms you have found that beautiful zeal of discovery. I found that 'Archana' perfection and brilliance but more so a new direction. Maybe it was your intention and motivation but whatever the driving factor was, Archana they were both outstanding. Even in your league.😳
Creating a vm for the song Ankhonki would be very nerving if not impossible. To begin with the pace of the song it very slow, the melody that single 'lamha' ambiance, the lyrics very specific and the whole just very iconic of the original. Sanjay Leela Bhansali was able to create the images to illuminate that beautiful hatke nature of the piece. You were very much restricted to mn moments, filmed for entirely different reasons. Archana, in every single aspect, you nailed it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I just could not believe it. It is not that I doubted you but I just could not believe you proved wrong my doubts about a vm to this song so utterly and absolutely!
I loved that you used the Dusshehra moments for the opening, as a nod to the original film. The girls walking down the stairs, along to the chime in the song so that 'Nupur's payal' becomes the preamble to the piece. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ That turn of Nupur and entrance of Mayank @ 0:20 & 0:23 respectively just timed perfectly! THat drum roll of the song and drums within the song, is the Archana perfected scene selection and edited timing that I am talking about! 👏
I loved that high pitched melody introduced in the song 0:38, which evokes a mood of anxiety, that something is about to happen, which your so elegantly choreograph Nupur's trepidation as Mayank approaches.⭐️⭐️⭐️ I loved, just loved that lingering moment as you stay with the song, as Kumar begins the first utterances of words, so softly, which fitted so well with Mayank 'whispering' into her ear. Then that excellent change scene to fit in with the progression of song which now begins to flow forwards. The timing of the 'blackout @0:54, beautiful! The repeat of the first line, in the echo of their actions, @0:58 then the cut to the similar action but new setting @ 1:07 ALL flowing so elegantly!
I loved, just loved that moment at 1:31, as Nupur peeks around, 'Tumhe dekhke' & that uthi/jhuki Ankhein line and your edited scenes. 👏 I loved how you used that 'slight' laugh expression of Nupur's to match the slight laugh of Kavita @1:54 whilst still using an apt scene which follows the theme of the song. Seriously, you must have ALL MayUr scenes playing on a continual loop in your head, the manner you access perfect scenes so wonderfully well.👏
That playful chase scene that fitted so well with the song's tone. 👏 You could have chosen a few but then you remind me why you are one of the best of your art, with that edit @2:16, where that undulating string comes in the song which you choreograph to MN's pronounced breathing! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Just so beautiful! Then @2:24, that eerie change to the string which you correspond with Mn moving from laughing to awkward feelings.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Then 'chime' and you cut to *blush* @2:26⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The timing @2:33 labhon pe laga loon *blush* just perfect!⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️AND 'palkon ki chilman' too as Nupur looks down to Mayank's 'chhupa loon @2:48 THEN as the pace once again quickens, as the lyrics sharpen 'khayaalon ke ye shokhiya maaf ho' and sweeten, you edit again to perfection, @2:53 to 2:59⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Archana, I was holding my breath through it all and yet able to breathe easily enough that my heart hummed so loud the moon could hear me.😳
Again, you orchestrated the line 'har dam' so profoundly, but that 'blink and you will miss it' Madhosh of Mayank's, that subtle change of demeanour, as though the song was playing in his head, @3:13 was just so perfect, I was beside myself in amazement!👏
Oh, Archana, you captured that playful yet poignant tone of the song so well; the slow yet inciting pace of action and the overall theme
where two hearts that seem to becoming outwardly entangled are in fact inwardly now entwined forever. In terms of overall mood and perfected timing and editing, this is your best, although I would say my favourite is still 'thoda badmash.' Archana, proficiently done and a joy to watch!
