when u look superficially - yes, I agree..acting was NEVER her dream .. and infact, when I'd first thought that this was happening I questioned myself soo many times..how CAN she do this ?? she jus CANNOT .. also, being a LOT like gunjan myself..even I immediately got repulsed of the idea of acting ..
but then..I got thinking..do we ALWAYS and EVERYTIME kno what v want from life? v dont..v live life..and v face situations..and v realise something that v never even thought of in our life .. ther are very few ppl in their life who are born wit what they want from life..who are born wit knowing what they want from life .. gunjan isnt one of them..because of her inherent shyness .. and her under confidece in herself..she has created a shield around herself and that shield prevents her from retrospecting her inner talents ..
and I m not saying that this shield only covers gunjan..somewhere this shield covers all of us..but very few hav the power to remove that shield and introspect into what our true talents are and whether v really want to pursue them then .. some ppl can remove that shield on their own .. but ther are some, like gunjan, who need an external agent or catalyst to help them remove that shield around them and make them SEE what they have .. whether or not they wil decide to pursure them, is another thing altogether ..
sam and neil are those catalysts in gunjan's life..who are jus making her SEE what she has..whether or not, she wants to pursue that in her life is something thats her decision altogether .. as sam said "agar woh na kahein..to yeh uski choice hain.." sam is NOT telling her to follow her dream which is acting..he is telling her to do THAT thing which always brings a smile on her face .. IF acting is that thing that brings a smile on her face why shudnt she do it? and if its not something that wil bring a smile on her face..she wud not do it - its as simple as that! but how wil she KNOW it..unless she gives it a try?
singing..was NOT her dream too.. it was jus her talent..I wont really say that she loves singing too .. singing is something she does when her heart is fillwed wit emotions and those emotions need an overflow..thats whe she lets out her emotions into music and sings her heart out - literally .. sam listened to her song by chance and thought that this was one talent that the whole world shud know .. because she is such a BEAUTIFUL singer .. but she doesnt feel the need to showcase that talent to the world and added to it is the fact that she was afraid of limelight and crowd..so that prevented her from trying .. and sam was again the catalyst that helped her uncover that shield and brought out the talent to the world ..
but singing was different than this acting situation - because there .. atleast she herself KNEW that talent of hers even tho she never percieved that as a 'talent' .. here, she doesnt KNOW that acting is one of her talents .. and sam and neil are jus making her SEE that talent of hers .. whether or not she will follow it later on is her choice altogether ..
this was all abt talents..I dont think this is abt dreams at all .. because as far as I kno acting/singing on stage in NEVER gunjan's dream .. her only dream is to lead a simple life .. and she IS already living that dream of hers via sam and his love and wil continue to do so .. when u dream something strongly, and dont find the path towards it ..u get so shattered, like it happened wit nupur when her dream of acting got shattered or it happened wit gunjan when her dream of marrying samrat for shattered on v-day ..
but eventually, u do find sum way to pursue ur dreams .. and I strongly BELIEVE that .. if ur dream is destined to become true then u will get it fulfilled no matter whatever obstacles ther are in ur life ..
if nupur's dream is genuinely to become an actress she WILL become an actress and gunjan outshining her in this one movie wil not matter at all ..
however, this track is NOT abt dreams..its completely abt talents..and jus because gunjan has never given a thought to acting doesnt mean that she does not have that talent within her .. who wud hav thought that she wud become an RJ? the shy chashmish who wud think twice before talking to the person in front of her is interacting wit millions of ppl on the radio .. but she did it .. because she has the talent to understand ppl, to emphasize wit them and a knack to get them engrossed in her talks, ONCE she gets talking..but to get her talking is a task and the RJ hunt was a beautiful field because ther nobody cud see her shyness..they cud only hear her voice and that gave her the confidence .. and eventually she is now learning to open up to ppl too .. she compared an entire play..so she IS a performer..only she is afraid to cum OUT into the open..and this track is jus giving her an opportunity to do that ..
whether or not she wil continue it is her choice altogether!
