That's a fantastic post, Gagan!
My criticisms and concerns:
When MJHT started and proceeded, I was so happy that it's actually one of the very few shows that started out with less friendships and actually is moving to more. First Mayank was pretty much CJ's friend then we saw many more friendships like Mayank-Samrat, Samrat-Nupur, Mayank-Gunjan, Gunjan-Benji, Benji-Nupur and so on. That was the best part. Frankly, I've enjoyed Samrat-Nupur, Nupur-Benji, Mayank-Gunjan scenes to the core. But now where are they?
Either we see MayUr fighting or Mayank making up for it and apologizing (I've nothing against that, I think those scenes are cute once in a while but not everyday) or we see Samrat realizing his love or we see Gunjan crying.
Where's CJ? Been forever since we saw her. Mayank is in a relationship with Nupur doesn't mean that he forgets his old friends.
When RV and jail issues were sorted out, we saw the gang together, why not show them together more? Just because two people are in love doesn't mean they forget their friends. They should spend time together as friends too.
Granted, MayUr confessed and that was an awesome confession, but what now? Doesn't mean their story ended or they can't have a track anymore.
Coming to SaJan, it's been forever since Gunjan genuinely smiled. First she cried Samrat doesn't love her. Now that he does love her he sitll won't confess and make her cry. Seriously where are we going with this?
I thought the whole friendship thing was going to end with Samrat's realization but what is he doing? Again not confessing! If Gunjan being so shy can confess her feelings, why can't Samrat? Even tough he's the outgoing and coolest person.
Besides, who says that friendship ends with love? That's what I keep hearing. Isn't love supposed to actaully bring two friends together? As far as I know you can't love someone without being friends with him/her.
Everything has a limit, if you keep dragging until the rubber band breaks, then frankly that's a wrong strategy.
I love the cute, romantic couple scenes but MJHT is definitely more than this or used to be. It was about friendships, loyalty, college fun and masti, studies, careers, and so much more.
