Anxious worrying is one of several personality styles that has been identified as a risk factor for that person developing a depressive disorder.
People with high levels of anxious worrying in their personality style are more likely to have a parent who suffers from anxiety, more likely to have demonstrated traits of behavioural inhibition (Gunjan is an introvert shes very repressed look at how SheeeeNah was accusing her and she didnt say a word!), more likely to have DSM-IV Cluster C personality traits (such as rejection sensitivity, irritability and self-criticism which is all noticeable in Gunjan) and score highly on measures of neuroticism, trait anxiety and worrying. Plus they are more likely to have developed the depressive disorder at an earlier age and suffer more frequent and lengthier depressive episodes. Just like this current Depressing Track we're going through now actually. Having these characteristics increase the risk to depression and, when challenged by a life stressor, amplify those anxiety features and shape the phenotypic picture of 'anxious depression'. So basically for Gunjan her "Life Stressor" at the moment areherfeelings for Samrat. People who have this type of personality style are more likely to report that they have 'always been a worrier'. They may be able to relate several incidents in their lives where periods of unchecked worry dominated their thinking for days on end or in Gunjans case for episodes on end.
Over time, they possibly would have developed a number of strategies to help them cope with their high levels of anxiety, some of which may only be effective in the short-term. For Gunjan it was deciding to stay Friends and in the SheeeNah track it was breaking that Friendship. Some people with predominant features of this personality style may actively seek reassurance while others may withdraw from their friends and family members and stew over their problems. Classic Gunjan. She withdraws. Nupur didnt know anything about Gunjans heartbreak until she saw it for herself in the bathroom when Gunjan broke down. God. I really DO think too much.
Gunjan does care about Nupur we saw that when Nupur went for that Inter College Triathalon. She was depressed without Nupur and Samrat gave her Little Sam to cheer her up. And when Nupur had that huge fight with Mayank after the Talent Parade Gunjan DID comfort her and advised her to phone Mayank and apologise. But because of Gunjans personality she tends to focus on one thing at a time. SO shes stressed right now OVER Samrat. So much that she has excluded everything else from her mind and NUPUR knows what Gunjan is like! Didnt you see how she tried to reassue Gunjan today after she told her that she was talking about herself and Mayank? Nupur is a stronger personality than Gunjan. Nupur will never need to be comforted and reassured as much as Gunjan will and in some ways Nupur "mothers" Gunjan. So. Yeah.
Gunjan wasnt there so how could she know? And anyways that fight was resolved on stage! And Gunjan HAS comforted Nupur before! I mentioned it above and I explained her personality type too.
No shes depressed. That doesnt make her one dimensional. One dimensional means she has no depth or complexity. Gunjan is stressed and depressed right now. That doesnt make her one dimensional.

A one-dimensional character can be summed up in a certain trait or characteristic. In All Quiet on the Western Front, Paul Bumer's high school teacher, Kantorek, is an example of a one-dimensional character, because he maintains a sense of idealistic patriotism, despite his encounters with war atrocities. Gunjan has changed from the beginning of the show to now. Change indicates she is NOT one dimensional.
