What went by (after the barn)-
SIGH! That AMAZING barn episode still lingers in my memory, how I wish to see THAT Mayank again someday. MN HAD the potential to become most unconventional TV couple had the creatives built a storyline to them instead of rushing them into love i.e. making them fall for each other over Mayank's shirts I doubt if anyone can summarize MN's "love story" 😕 , I surely cannot because there was NO story in the first place. First there was NO poignant patch up after their damn serious TP fight, then there was this confused MPD Mayank throughout the "Ac-Meet". After that, either Mayank was behaving like an eternal sadoo shooing Nupur away while she kept piling herself on him with NO self respect, or he was playing weird Pehchaan Kaun- Mayank ya Varun? games with Nupur n Nupur suddenly turned into a smitten 50s frazzled heroine overnight after Mayank gave her his shirt when she tore her dress 😕. Exactly what are the circumstances that led them to fall for each other is something that I STILL cannot figure out and I am afraid it is something that will haunt me forever. This whole play was something I was not looking forward to in the first place for I did not like the sound of DTPH n MN together (at least the original characters of MN that I loved). Somehow the build up to their confession seems superficial to me , I'd have been glad had Mayank proposed to Nupur the morning after barn episode itself, at least we would have been spared all this torture in the name of the "kick ass" play! The kind of cheesy lines MN were mouthing all this while made me wonder if these are the same two people who had some of the best n coolest lines in the show (read girne main PhD etc). THE LAST thing I expected on MN was that silly , absolutely pointless scene in the costume room where N ogles at a shirtless M (I'd rather not go into the details of M admiring his body). What I want to say is the subtlety which I LOVED about MN had been killed along with their original characters by all the fancy and OTT fare. The cratives never used MN's subtlety while showing their romance in the phase they were falling in love....Even the crucial confession was handled with sheer carelessness.....
The Road Ahead-
I honestly do not know what to expect- I never had hopes for MN AFTER they fell in love anyway. I only had expectations wrt the falling in love phase because that is the most beautiful n exciting phase if handled well but my hopes were brutally murdered even before MN reached the love professing stage. So I have no clue and hopes wrt what lies ahead......
