Exactly Kavs! He couldnt concentrate because he wanted to go spend time with her. But he couldnt let himself accept that because of his "Across the gateway of my heart, I wrote no thoroughfare.." theories. And the things that he assumes he doesnt like about her - like her chirpiness or her curiosity - are actually traits he finds adorable.
