Ajay Gehi aka Rahul of Miilee has been conspicuous by his absence on the show. Rumours about his being tossed out of the show have been to rest now that it has been confirmed that he will resume shooting for the show from January onwards.
Gehi's track on the show has been put on hold for over two months. He says, "I've been underground for the last couple of months. It wasn't a planned break," he shrugs. Apparently, he had blocked these dates for the two films that he was scheduled to do, "But unfortunately they never took off. I'd informed the Miilee team about my long absence much in advance. Since the films didn't happen I utilised those dates for Celebrity Fame Gurukul."
A lot was written about his fall-out with Miilee producer Radhika Kumar. Didn't he ever feel the need to clarify or retaliate?
He says, "I don't think it was important. I know where I stand as far as my equations with people are concerned. There is no problem with Radhika whatsoever. But, I can tell you that I will join the Miilee unit from next month."
It's obvious that Gehi intends to do more of films and less of TV. "Well, that was a planned strategy that failed miserably."
"0After being a part of a film like Maqbool, I wanted to do more of such roles. But I've realized that I've reached a stage where I'm exposed as a television actor. So, films are something that will happen in its own time."
Gehi seems to have learnt his lesson well and has decided to take the sensible route to stardom by keeping his options open. "Next year you'll see more of me. I might be doing more TV shows and films as well." But he isn't giving out any details. "I'll talk when the time is right."
Another thing that's keeping him occupied is the script he's been writing for a film that he intends to produce soon.
