Shas: You are right. The marriage of Gauri was a good plot for Ranveer Ishani as well as developing Gauries character. I also fail to understand why these writers don't add some light moments and humour. The humour already added is typed and nauseating.

All has been said that I felt about this show. I agree with NBT-BV that Indian shows lack creativity. Most of the times, I feel, they start with marriage theme. At times I feel the characters in the shows have nothing to do but getting married. For the sakes of tv ratings the moral values are sold away. The characters and their characterization hardly make sense. I tried to watch some tv programmes as some of my friends recommended me but got tired in an episode or so. As for Gauri, I agree her character has more depth than the most of them. Prateek and Devarsh are as comic relief only and Chaitali is fine. Harshad's characterization is flawed as well or may be that's not flawed but they've shown him as a flawed man. IDK. The only character I see with immense depth is Ranveer. Ishaani's character needs to be given more of it and should be made stable.

There is a show recently started "Shstri Sisters" - has a good characterisation and is not EK show. A normal real life storyline with enjoyable moments. So far no conspiracy and saas bahu shouting.
