Tomorrow (January 12th, 2010) is a very special day for every fan of Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, and for the family of the said person himself, for it is the 55th birthday of Mr. Arun Govil, who is the first actor to have acted in the holy role of Prabhu Shri Ram in Indian television!

So everyone, please wish Arun Govil a very happy birthday and many many returns of the day!😃 None of us can ever forget his incomparable acting and the lasting impression he's made on us as Ramji, so much so that no actor to this day has taken his place as the Kali Yug Ramji in our hearts.😉😳

⭐️Some Info on Arun Govil as actor and producer⭐️

Actor

Govil got his first break in Indian cinema from acting in the 1977 film Paheli. He later starred in other films such as Sawan Ko Aane Do (1979), Saanch Ko Aanch Nahin (1979), Ayaash (1982) and Itni Si Baat (1981).

Ramanand Sagar cast Govil as Vikramaditya in his television series Vikram Aur Betaal and Rama in his highly successful television series Ramayan, for which he won the Uptron Award for "Best Actor in a Leading Role" in 1988. His role as Rama provided great exposure to him and led to him being cast in other religious-based roles, including Harishchandra in Vishwamitra (TV series). He also worked in Oriya movies like Bidhira Bidhan (1989) and many Telugu movies like Edu Kondalaswamy (1991), Govindha Govindha (1993), and Great Robbery (1996).

Producer

He later set up a production company with his Ramayan co-star Sunil Lahiri. In addition, he produced Mashaal, a TV series based on the Indian independence movement, in which he also starred and which was co-produced by and co-starred his wife Shrileikha.

Arunji, we'd all like to wish you a very happy birthday and many happy, healthy years to come..... your endearing early performances in Rajshri productions like Paheli and Saawan Ko Aane Do won us over too, but it was your incomparably perfect portrayal of Shri Ram that will never be matched or forgotten... we can't ever thank you enough for giving us a radiant, benevolent image of our Ramji to picture in our minds as we pray to him and gain inspiration from his words and deeds. I'm sure Ramji is already blessing you abundantly for having represented him so perfectly, but still we all pray that he blesses you even more because without you, many of us wouldn't feel as close to him as we do now... for this gift you've given us, no thanks will ever be enough!
