For Sandy, the brightest spark I know,
A creative mind, with colors that flow.
With pixels and strokes, she weaves a tale,
Her designs like dreams that never fail.
A fan of Deepika’s grace on screen,
Madhavan’s charm, and Arjun’s sheen.
Their stories, like whispers, in her heart stay,
Inspiring her art in the most magical way.
She dances through the worlds of Wake Up Sid and Friends,
Where laughter and love are the sweetest trends.
With The Vampire Diaries, she dives so deep,
In mystic realms where secrets sleep.
On the field of cricket, she stands so proud,
Cheering for Kane, Warner, and Dhoni with the loudest crowd.
A fan of Sunrisers, her spirit takes flight,
Her heart beats with the rhythm of their fight.
Oh Sandy, your talent, like a star, so bright,
Lights up the world, fills the day and night.
A friend so sweet, with a heart so true,
The world is better, simply because of you.

Christmas Eves
Christmas Eve 2024:
The bleak walls of the prison in Sao island contrasted the festive atmosphere of the outside world. Although there was a small christmas tree that was lit with fairy lights at the entrance, none of the inmates exhibited the Christmas spirit. As Rani signed her name on the reception ledger, she found her mind pondering over the bleakness and the task that laid forward. This was not something she volunteered to do, had the decision been left to her she would have spent the day at the Christmas fair downtown with her boyfriend Danish but when her ailing father had looked at her with pleading eyes, she hadn't had the heart to refuse. And so she walked down the musty and dark corridor against her wishes to meet her father's best friend, her godfather, the criminal, the murderer, the man sentenced to death the day after, Karan Wahi. As she entered the cell, she saw the once laughing, strong man, whom she had seen in photos, facing the wall, bent and frail. She cleared her throught to announce her arrival. The man straightened his back and turned around. As the sunlight hit his face, she noticed that his eyes though the brilliant blue that she remembered had lost the sparkle.
" I thought he would come as usual, considering this is
my last Christmas... but he sends a substitute."
Rani said nothing wondering what to say to a man who was
sentenced to death.
" Well, thank you for coming to see me, I am sure you have better ways to spend your day than with a convicted murderer especially during this holiday season."
"Can I ask you something?"
"Mm"
"Why did you fight with Arjun uncle?"
"Didn't your Baba tell you?"
" No."
" It's a long story"
"I am supposed to spend the day with you"
"It's the story of 3 Christmas Eves"
He looked out the small window and began.
************
Christmas Eve 1974:
"Goal and the Spaniards lift the cup again..."
The rest of the commentary was lost as 4 boys cheered themselves hoarse.
Karan, Gurmeet, Harshad and Arjun, the 'gang' as they called themselves were sitting in Arjun's house watching Spain vs Brazil football match. Being great fans of the Spanish football team, it wasn't a wonder that they were celebrating their victory. They were not just fans of football but the 4 15 year old boys were great friends as well. They had this motto of 'All for one and one for all' and were practically inseparable.
" Ok, so we are going to the party, tonight right? Let's get ready"
" Oh oh Gurmeet, look who's so eager to meet his girl Priyanka"
"Shut up, Karan, you'll understand when you meet your love someday"
Joking and laughing, the friends got ready.
The party had already started when few hours later, the four friends entered the party hall. Gurmeet excused himself immediately whill the other 3 watched around sipping lemonades. Suddenly Arjun stopped and his breath hitched.
" Harshad, Harshad... look, look over there"
Hershed turned to look at an attractive girl with dusky skin and curls framing her beautiful face enter the room with a new set off they hadn't seen before. He nudged Karan and the 3 of them walked towards her. Karan offered his hand to the dusky girl.
"Hello, dusky"
She shook her curls and replied
"Hello skinny"
She put out her tongue cheekily.
"I am Karan, not Skinny"
"And I am Kajol, not Dusky"
They both burst into laughter and shook their hands.
"Kajol, meet my friends Harshad and Arjun"
********
"That's how we met... I didn't know that day was the beginning of the end of our gang"
"But you were all friends, I have seen all of you in my parents wedding album"
" Oh, we didn't suspect anything then. They were busy packing things to settle abroad and It was at your parent's wedding that I met Jennifer... I guess I was too busy that I didn't notice the storm brewing between my closest friends"
****
Christmas Eve 1990:
"Karan, Arjun, wow you both are here"
"What is it, Kajol?"
"Arjun finally proposed, look"
"That's awesome, I am so happy"
Karan hugged her, not noticing the change in his friend's reaction.
"Well, you propose Jen soon too, else she'll fly away or are you planning to mcory her at Veer_Zaraa's age?"
Saying so ,she left. Karan put his hand on Harshad's shoulder.
"Guess it's just you and me, pal"
Harshad shook him off. Karan looked surprised.
"Hey, Buddy! "
"Buddy, who?"
" What?"
"When did you know that Arjun was going to propose her?"
"Well, didn't we all know that? He was nuts for her since he set his eye on her"
"Oh really? And what about my feelings? Did you not know?"
Karan said nothing but looked away. He had never asked but had suspected his friend did have some feelings. Harshad shook him.
"Really, Karan?"
"She loves him, Harsh, I am sure of it."
Harshad pushed him hard and punched him.
" I hate you"
*******
"That was the last I thought I would see of him, but I was wrong"
"What happened?"
"Unfortunately there was someone who had been listening to our conversation"
"Who?"
"Arjun... I never knew it then, if I had, I would have done something, but, I didn't, I proposed Jen and got married and he got married to Kajol. I was so busy and happy in my marital life that I neglected my friends until and day..."
"What happened?"
"I got a call from Kajol... It was around midnight and she were crying for help. Jen and I rushed there only to find a fully drunk Arjun rambling about Harshad and Kajol. She was 5 months pregnant then. You asked me why I fought with Arjun? well that was why"
Rani nodded.
"We used to fight often, I tried to reason with himl but to no avail. When Kajol gave birth to a stillborn child, things worsened. So, Kajol came to stay with us. Then came that fateful Christmas Eve"
****
Christmas Eve 1995:
Karan was at the door of his house when he stopped as he heard gun shots. Pushing the door open, he found the scene that would forever be etched in his mind. His friend Arjun, fully drunk, pointing a gun at his buddy Harshad while his wife and Kajol were pleading with him.
"Harshad?"
"No time to talk, help"
Karan nodded and tried to move forward.
"Don't or I'll shoot."
"Kajol, Jen leave"
"How dare you talk to my wife?"
And then there were a series of shots. Standing at the door, Karan was engulfed by a puff of smoke and once it cleared, he felt his heart stop as he saw his wife and Harshad lying on the floor. In a fit of anger, he lunged forward to pull the gun from Arjun when he accidently pressed the trigger. At the exact moment, Kajol jumped to stop him and the bullet hit her instead. Karan slid down beside her in shock, he had killed her. He heard another shot and realised that Arjun had taken his life.
*****
"But, I thought you shot Arjun uncle"
"I shot his wife"
"But, that was an accident"
"She was my best friend. I was the only one she trusted and I shot her."
"You know, uncle, you didn't do anything. It was an accident, let me fight for you. I can get you out of the death sentence"
"Living without Jen is by itself a death sentence for me.... No, I just wanted you to know the truth. I never wanted you to hate me."
" I never did, Baba always spoke highly of you. I always thought that you had some hard circumstance"
"would you... Uh... if you don't mind cater to a dying man's wish?"
" Of Course, tell me"
"I have always dreamed of being called Papa, would you call me that once? uh, I don't, uh, have much visitors"
He bowed his head and folded his hands. Reni placed her hand on his and shook her head.
" Papa ... No... I promise I will take you out of here and we will be together"
His eyes lit up and sparkled, his smile brightened his face and suddenly Rani saw his wrinkles vanish. He looked as if he had shed so many years.
"Tell Gurmeet, that I loved his substitute. Tell him I am forever indebted to him. And Rani... I love you... I love you"
With that, he walked to his bed and laid down, eyes sent, a peaceful smile on his face breathing softly.
*****
"Rani"
"Yes, Baba"
"I just received a call from the prison... Karan had a heart attack"
"What? I just came back from prison, he was sleeping. I heard his story and I wan planning to file a petition against his death sentence.... Oh no..."
" What did he say?"
Rani recited the entire story. Gurmeet sighed
"Just like him to leave the most important part..."
"What do you mean, Baba?"
" He left the part that Jen was pregnant 9 months, when she was shot, she didn't survive the shooting but the baby did. Karan didn't want the baby to grow knowing her father was a killer and so gave her to his best friend So that he may give the child a good education far away from here... I guess he was holding on till now just to see you and hear those words from you."
A tear rolled down Rani's eye. Her eyes accidentally hit the mirror in the hall. Sho had never wondered before but now she knew why her eyes sparkled blue when her parents shone a soft brown. Today, she was proud of the blue.

Gift 1 - I have covered Fav actor and Actress Part

Gift 2 - For favourite movies (sleeping beauty)

----------------------------------
Gift 3 - OneShot on Dev and Sonakshi (Fav TV show)
The ‘Perfect’ Cook-off -
Sonakshi stood in the kitchen, arms crossed, glaring at the stove where the kadhi was simmering a little too loudly. The kitchen was filled with the delicious smell of spices, but something wasn’t right.
"Dev!" she called, her voice tinged with frustration.
Dev wandered in, looking like he’d just emerged from a cricket match (which he technically had). “What happened now?”
“I’m trying to make a perfect kadhi for our guests tonight," she said, pointing at the bubbling pot, "but someone forgot to add the besan. Again."
Dev scratched his head. “Oh... so that's why it looks like soup, huh?”
“Yes, Dev!” she replied, her voice exasperated. “It’s supposed to be thick, not... runny like water!”
Dev leaned in, peering at the pot, then back at her with a sheepish grin. “Sona, I’m pretty sure it’s perfect. I mean, who wants thick, heavy kadhi when you can have a light, soupy one? Think about the calories!”
Sonakshi rolled her eyes. “You are impossible.”
Dev stepped closer, giving her a wink. “What if... I help you? I’ll make my famous khichdi to go with it.”
She gave him a look that could freeze water. “Dev, last time you made khichdi, it was basically a cement block.”
Dev gasped dramatically. “That’s because I made it too perfect. You can’t appreciate true artistry.”
Sonakshi crossed her arms. “Artistry? That khichdi was a weapon.”
Dev laughed, then suddenly grinned. “Okay, okay. How about this - I’ll make the khichdi, and you can taste-test it. I’ll even throw in some extra love for you.”
Sonakshi raised an eyebrow. “Love? What’s that supposed to mean?”
Dev casually tossed a handful of ajwain into the kadhi. “It means... you don’t even need the besan anymore. You have me!”
She stared at him, then shook her head with a sigh. “I swear, Dev, you’re the only one who can ruin perfect food with your love and artistry.”
“Hey, it's working, isn’t it?” he said, winking again.
Sonakshi sighed, but her lips twitched as she looked at him, amused despite herself. “You’re a disaster in the kitchen... but I guess I’m lucky I married you, Mr. Chef Extraordinaire.”
Dev grinned, pulling her into a one-armed hug. “Lucky you, indeed. Now, how about you finish the kadhi, and I’ll make my famous khichdi of love?”
Sonakshi laughed. “I’ll believe it when I taste it.”
“Deal,” he said, kissing her cheek. “But only if you promise to never give up on me... even if my khichdi kills us.”

Gift 4 - Poem (fav sport star)
With a bat in hand, and calm in his eyes,
He faced every challenge, no matter the size.
No flashy strokes, no drama, no sound,
But Rahul Dravid stood his ground.
The wall of cricket, steady and true,
A master of patience, a hero through and through.
He built innings like a fortress so strong,
And taught us to stand firm, to right every wrong.
No loud cheers, no crowd’s wild roar,
Just a quiet hero, forever adored.
