Summer is here to cause havoc on our skin. The harsh sun-rays may give your skin some dark spots, pigmentation, wrinkles and tanning. Luckily for you, Crazy Creatives are ready with some expert advice on beating the heat, staying beautiful and fashionable this summer.

Here's our guide offering tips on Skin care, Hair care and surviving the summer heat

In summer, the skin is prone to become oily because the natural oils of your skin flows freely in heat of hot weather.

Due to exposure of harmful UVA and UVB , collagen of skin gets damaged, this makes your skin wrinkly and fastens aging.

Here are some important Skin care tips to maintain good skin during summer

Stay out of direct sun light between 10 am and 4 pm.

This is the time when UV rays are strongest and direct. If you must go out, wear protective clothing and use good SPF ( 30 and above) sunscreen. Apply sunscreen half an hour before you step out.

Cold Water splash

Wash your face with cold water, every time you come back from sun exposure. This may cool your skin and take care of temporary tanning.

Use water based Moisturizer

Moisturizers are either Water based or Oil based. In summer, the former is advisable. It is easy to identify a water based moisturizer - look at the ingredients list, Water would be listed as first ingredient. Look for a moisturizer that has Vitamin E and Sunscreen protection as well.

Exfoliate

It is important to exfoliate your skin in summer. The heat , dust and sun screen can block the pores. So exfoliate regularly to keep the skin pores open

Go natural with Aloe Vera

Use Aloe Vera gel mixed with Vitamin E as a face pack during summer. Aloe Vera is anti-inflammatory and moisturizing. It calms the skin and nourishes it intensely. It also contains antioxidants that protects your skin from damage.

Summer Hair care

A Clarifying shampoo is must in summer due to build up of sweat in scalp. You also need a Deep conditioner because the summer heat causes lot of frizz and damages hair texture. If you want to style your hair, use Hair Spritz as it is lighter on hair.

Do not forget Footcare

We often forget our hardworking feet during summer. Remember to keep them moisturized, exfoliated and clean.

Soak your feet in salty water, alternate between hot and cold water every 2 minutes. This will also get rid of tiredness, increase blood flow and soften the skin.

Try to wear open footwear, if possible. A Flip-flop can be a colourful and easy addition to your summer wardrobe.

Summer Food

Beauty isn't just skin deep. You need to take care of your food and drink during summer. Here are some handy tips for your summer diet.

Drink plenty of water

We all know that drinking 8-10 glasses of water is absolutely essential during summers. If you are one of those who can't drink plain water, try adding a dash of Honey/Lemon/Mint/Cucumber to water. You can add all of these or any combination to make healthy flavored water at home and drink it all day.

Coconut Water

Coconut is full of health benefits and has wonderful cooling properties. It is laden with simple sugars, electrolytes and essential minerals which help keep the body well hydrated.

Cucumber

Cucumber is summer must have. It has lots of fiber that can help you keep your stomach clear. It is also packed with nutrients, made up to 95% water, which makes it naturally low in calories, fat and cholesterol. Eat cucumber in salads or just snack on cucumber slices, add lemon juice to make it tangy.

Onions

A must have in Summer. Red onions contain a chemical called quercetin which is believed to have an anti-histamine effect. Histamine is the irritant that causes heat rashes and adverse reactions to insect bites and stings, so eating onions daily may help to ease these summer complaints.

Watermelon

Who can forget this summer fruit? !! Since it is 90% water, it helps in rehydratingand tastes good too

Mango Panna

This is popular drink made from raw mangoes. It helps in keeping your stomach cool and hydrated.

Yogurt

Yogurts can promote friendly gut bacteria, such as Lactobacillus acidophilus. This protects against food poisoning, cases of which dramatically increase during hot temperatures when it is difficult to keep food fresh.

Adding fruits will make it healthier and help in replacing water content

Or make a plain lassi, savory buttermilk or go for mango lassi with dash of saffron. You can consume yogurt in many ways.

Be innovative and try making frozen yogurts at home. It is healthier option to eating calorie laden ice creams.

Lastly, it is important to keep be active during summer. Sweating in gym would make the body slimmer and would prevent it from overheating.

Enjoy Summer in Style

FASHION IS IN THE SKY, IN THE STREET, FASHION HAS TO DO WITH IDEAS, THE WAY WE LIVE ACCORDING TO WHAT IS HAPPENING.
--Coco Chanel

We all have been there, tossing and turning in sweat in a hot room, struggling because our sweat has practically glued the cover to our body... The eww feeling of stickiness and don't touch me- don't touch me- don't touch me soniye... because I'm sweating!

Scorching summer is unavoidable at a time of a year. It not only dehydrates you but also causes you to sweat and get a rash. We searched and researched until we came across a dhoop hunter, we CCs have captured few of the tactics from this (hypothetical) dude.

You can avoid these problems just by doing it right and wearing it not-tight!

What do you prefer? A sleepless night in the sauna or sleep in zzzs peaceful calm? How do you get it in summer? AC is the quick answer. What if I tell you it's possible to cool a roomwithout AC? Stop rolling your eyes guys... It's possible, I swear! All you have to do is get creative with grains and your refrigerator!

So get ready to get a REM-full sleep with just few little gizmos. Here are some DIY strategies:

Cotton up and cotton down, cotton here and cotton there!

The ooh-la-la satin sheets, silk and polyester sheets are better kept for cooler nights, trust me on this couples...you don't wanna bake your bae! Light coloured, light weighted cotton bed linens are excellent for promoting ventilation and airflow in the room.

Cool it up with the freezer

Stick sheets into freezer for a few minutes before bed. Granted this won't keep you cool all night but despite anything it'd provide you a brief respite from heat and humidity. Keep it wrapped inside a polythene unless smell of the eatables is your favourite fragrance!

Be creative

Change the ceiling fan settings so the blade run counter-clockwise, it'll pull hot air up and blow it out instead of circulating it in the room!

Woah there go the Nile-dwellers' way!

Egyptians usually soak their sheets or towels in water before using it as a blanket, all I add is you lay those damp sheets on the dry sheet to avoid soaking the mattress.

Get loose

Taking the meaning as it sounds and since getting complete nude is well, controversialyou can pick up a loose and soft cottony nighties.

Go old school

Remember times when iceboxes contained actual boxes of ice? Well lets bring that time back... try this trick. Just position a tray of ice and position the fan in front of it. The breeze will pick up cold water from ice surface as it melts creating a cooling mist!

Pamper your pulses

Apply ice packs to pulse points at neck, elbows, ankles, behind knees and feel chilled out!

Create cross breeze

Open the windows at opposite ends in your room, the best time is 5.00 to 8.00 am and 7.00 to 10.00 pm. The air then is pleasantly cool and Mr. Sun is dim.

Unclutter your room

Cluttered room traps heat. Remove unwanted furniture, curios, magazines, books and pack off all your synthetic drapes and wooly carpets. Thin rugs made from jute and hemp look and feel great.

Play Brainy

Take a bowl, vase or any other glass vessel. Next put in some pretty flowers, pebbles sea shells or fresh leaves that psychologicallycreate feeling of cool and calmness plus it becomes a whimsical piece of decor that is summery!

Light it right!

Turn off lights when not in use, lights not only consume power to give you heavy bills. They radiate lot of heat. Replace the lights with LEDs and CFLs.

Make yourself a rice pillow

It is inexpensive, easy and perfect way to keep your bed cool. Try them. They're fun to snuggle and can be chilled in refrigerator.

[Tip: Stubbed your toe, sprained your ankle, itchy bug bite, smartphone into water, sore muscles: A rice pack is your remedy!]

Bring in nature

Strategically vines, shrubs and plants can reduce your house temperature by 20 degrees.

Make a DIY air cooler

There are all kind of air coolers that you can make at home For Example:[click]

Paint it white

Coat of white lime wash on a flat surface can help slab remain cool throughout the summer by reflecting heat. A more long lasting solution would be using solar reflective white paint to coat the roof.

Soak the curtains

Do you know that hanging a wet sheet in front of your window can create a natural air-conditioner-esque effect? Try spraying baby powder between your sheets to help absorb sweat and keep things cool.

Your own- Natural cooling body mist:

My granny does this, try this... Add lemongrass, aloe vera, peppermint and a little virgin coconut oil into spray bottle. Soak it in distilled water for 24 hrs and it's ready to use. However spray it on a napkin and use that napkin to dab your skin. Do not forget to shake it before use!

Wearing It right

Wear Cotton clothes

Cotton absorbs the sweat from your body and allows it to evaporate. It works like a towel, sucking away the moisture and discourages growth of bacteria and yeast. This makes the perfect fabric for summer because it keeps you cool and prevents infection. You should avoid synthetic clothes because unlike cotton they do not breathe. So when you sweat, the sweat doesn't dry off .

Go for lighter colours

Light colours keep you cool and reflect most of sun rays back to the atmosphere. Dark fabrics absorbs these rays and keep you hotter... and girls that's indeed not the way to get hot.

Wear loose Clothes

Tight clothes restrict your circulation. Your blood vessels dilate in summer so that your body can cool itself by letting heat escape through your skin, so please do wear loose and airy clothes and allow your blood to flow freely ... it will even hide your tummy giving you a great look😛

Choose the right clothing styles

Summer seem to be another word for shorts and tights. However these aren't the ideal garments for the season. They expose your skin to the rays of the sun, inviting problem like UV damage and hear rashes. Remember you're leaving your skin vulnerable. The sun dries moisture of your skin getting it prone to ageing and wrinkles. The ideal clothing for summer is loose pants or long skirts.

Skip the padded bra

Three inches of padded bra+ a hot summer day = major boob sweat. A soft unlined bralette must be preferred.

Layer with open-weave knits

You'll feel every breeze.

Avoid heavy embellishments

They tend to weigh down your clothes, may even cause rashes. Try patterned garments which will add same kind of interest to your outfit.

Wear wide-brimmed hat or keep a light weight woven scarf

Drape it over your head whenever you feel you're getting too much sun. Scarf also keeps your hair off your neck. It is so light weight you'll barely feel it. Promise.

Wear unlined jackets, skirts and dresses

Now you don't wanna feel like walking through your own private sauna, do you?

Minimal jewellery please!

Earings are fine, they barely touch. But jewellery is a much no no they gotta go. Once the temperature rises the material tend to become unstable. It also causes irritation against sweaty skin getting you skin rash and infections!

Keep your hair off

Braid your hair, bun it up and flaunt your finishing touch like setting a red-carpet on fire!

"It's a smile, it's a kiss, it's a sip of wine ... it's summertime!

There is something different in every season...summer also has negative + positive affect...Though its very hot outside but summer brings out exciting lifestyles...We get to drink many juices and soda which are summer special...We eats lots of salad and wear short and different style clothes...Summer is best to enjoy hill station, beaches and pools...We hang out more in summer season rather than winter because there is no fog or cold issues out there...
Though summer comes up with heat, sun, stickiness and warm air but this is the only season where we enjoy ourselves at maximum.
