What does Christmas mean to you?

A festival of smiles?

A festival of laughter?

An embodiment of delight and elation?

Let's give a new name to this festive season of joy and jubilation.

Let it be a day that reminds us of how fortunate we are to experience it's euphoria, to receive unconditional love from our friends and family, to be the happiest we have ever been.

Let it be the day we remember the people who are not as blessed as us and to bring joy to their faces.

Let's make this Christmas a Smiling Snow Fest !

Let's follow the journey of three friends who find the true essence of this joyful day.

"Childhood is sinless, every child deserves bliss."

The chilly winter breeze made her shiver as she hugged herself even tighter while walking towards her friend's place, the snow crackling with each step of hers as her boots dug deep into the white ground. The roads were lit with scintillating lights with shades of green and red entrancing her in their charm, reminding her that today was Christmas Eve. In her pockets were 6 beautiful letters she unexpectedly received this morning, which she was sure were wrongly addressed to her. But the words inside were so simple yet so moving that she couldn't help but act on the inspiration to do good, that they gave to her. Brushing the snow off her hair, she quickly rang the bell.

Her friends Ayesha and Sush received her with a huge smile plastered across their faces.

"Hey Desto! Merry Christmas! What brings you here?"

...

Ten minutes later they were on Ayesha's bed, tears welling up in their eyes, as they read the six letters Desto received.

*Letter 1*

*Letter 2*

*Letter 3*

*Letter 4*

*Letter 5*

*Letter 6*

They knew there were many kids who dream of experiencing happiness someday, but they never felt themselves obliged to do something for them in any way.

This letter, which reached them by sheer coincidence, made them realize that they too are responsible to make the kids' lives better.

Have you ever thought how kids like to spend their Christmas? Isn't it hard for them to wait for a Santa who never visits them because they areunderprivileged? Some stop believing in Father Christmas, some never give up and believe with all their heart that Santa will visit them next year.

"The true spirit of Christmas lies not in decorating your home but ingracing lives."

Instead of engaging our time partying all day, this Christmas let's become their Santa Claus like these three friends are going to. Make a few of theirdreams come true. Give them the Christmas they have always wanted and the smiles they deserve more than anyone else does.

Even one smile can make a big difference.

"245!" Desto points to a door, "This is the orphanage home!"
They walk inside seeing no one was around to open the door for them.
"Umm, excuse me?"
After a long ten minutes, an old lady came from upstairs, adjusting her glasses looking at the girls. She had a wrinkle-streaked yet a motherly face.
The girls hesitantly smiled and introduced themselves.
...
"My prayers haven't gone unheard. Every year these kids get excited for Christmas and write letters for Santa. But they would never receive what they asked for. It is usually just an old toy that someone from the neighborhood wraps for them. But you girls have come to do a great thing, may god bless you children."
...
"Ca- ca- careful Sush! You are about to drop the cherry loaf!" Ayesha yelled from the other side startling Desto who was decorating the table.
"For god's sake, stop screaming. The kids would run away thinking a crazy woman has come into their house."
"Okay done!" Desto proudly said. "I am going to bring the kids from upstairs now."
...
Six little kids scurried along with Desto, two of them holding her hands down the stairs. Their eyes instantly gleamed seeing the dining table. They had never seen let alone ate anything in the platters that were placed before them.
"Wow look at that one! It has my favorite strawberry in it!" Romy exclaimed clapping his little hands together.
The kids chatted on in excitement when Ayesha called them sit and feast.
"All of this is for us?" Minnie asked out of amusement.
"Yup, it's all for you!" Desto grinned at the little girl holding out her hand for a Hi-Five'.
...
An hour later when everyone was settled in the living room, Sush announced "What's a merry Christmas without gifts? Let's start our day with the presents!"
Little gasps filled the room as the kids were shocked and surprised to see so many presents for each of them.
The kids started to open their gifts, and were blown away seeing for the first time they had gotten what they had asked for to Santa.
"Santa received our letters!" Romy looked up beaming.
"Yup, he did and Santa sent us as his secret messengers to you all!"
...
"Jack and Jill..." Everyone giggled seeing Sunny trying to act the rhymes in his is iPod with earbuds.
"A- are these books for- for me?" Anu asked looking surprised at the girls. "But- but I never asked anything to Santa."
"You didn't, but your lil friend Romy did." Desto pointed to Romy who was busy opening his gift and grinned widely at Anu. She started crying and gave him a hug, thanking her friend.
"What is this?" Romy scratched his head.
"It is an OTG. You can make all your favorite food with this machine! From cakes to doughnuts whatever you want!" Desto winked at him while he squealed and hugged his gift.
Minnie walked up to the girls and hugged all three of them, "Thanks for the diary. Now I can draw and write all I want. I will keep this as a treasure." She smiled looking at the diary.
"I guess Santa didn't receive my letter." Aarav held his head down and walked away when Sush tapped him and pointed outside the window with a grin.
"Hey it is a real sleigh! Did Santa really send it for me? Can we go on a ride on it?" He longingly asked for permission.
"Of course we can! We will go everywhere today on the sleigh. Happy now?" Sush patted his cheeks for which he returned a big smile.
As Sush was about to turn around, she saw Ayesha and Desto helping Rohan on the wheelchair they got for him.
"Wow! This is the magical chair! Santa got it for me! Now I can play with my friends!" He clapped his hands out of excitement and started to ride the wheelchair.
...
All of them were engrossed with their gifts while the girls looked at each other and shared a similar smile. The little ones' beaming faces were all that they needed to feel content on this festive day.

Sush pulled the sleigh in front of St. Michael's Church. The kids got down and followed Desto into the holy place. They went to God's Abode, to ask for his blessings.

Ayesha handed each of the kids a candle and told them to ask God to keep them blessed. All six of them tightly shut their eyes and spoke to God. The innocence and sincerity that radiated their faces was more than enough for God to keep them under his watch.
...
"You see God there, it's his birthday today. Every year we all celebrate Christmas for the birth of God, the day he was born to protect us all." Desto pointed to the statue of Jesus.
The kids blinked at Desto and back at the statue of God. After placing their candles all the kids said in unison, "Happy Birthday God. Thank you for taking care of us."

"How about a sleigh ride around the town now?" Sush asked turning around to face the kids sitting behind.
"Yes yes yes" Aarav squealed clapping his hands.
...
Dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way
Bells on bob-tail ring, making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing, a sleighing song tonight
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh
The kids clapped and danced while singing Jingle Bells' as they rode through the snowy neighborhoods, seeing beautiful decorations all over and the busy sidewalks. They waved and passed their gleeful smiles and vibrance onto every street they rode to, surprising most of them and mesmerizing the rest.
