What is 'Good Friday'?

I just read in another topic some of the members won't be able to celebrate Holi as it falls in Good Friday. I have no idea what it is about and why it is a mourning day. Can someone explain it to me please?

good friday is the day when jesus christ was hung on the cross. that's why it its a day of mourning

Misha is right. Good Friday was the day when Jesus Christ was cruxified.

jesus christ was crucified on good friday n then on easter sunday he is resurected!! good friday is on the 24th of march. n easter sunday is on the 26th. on the 26th , easter sunday we eat loads of easter egss. (love that part bout easter)lol!! :)
