salaam alaikum,

*Pls take 2 minutes to read them.

these 99 names explain Allah's attributes. by knowing them, we can be closer to our Rabb more inshallah.

"The most beautiful names belong to God: so call on Him by them;..." (Quran: 7:180)

1. Allah
Allah, He who has the Godhood which is the power to create the entities.

The Compassionate

The Merciful

The King

am i correct in thinking
if one memorises the 99 names of Allah (swt)
they are granted a place in jannat?

I have a frame with all of the 99 names of Allah aswell.
I always like to re-read them and I find it really fun :)

yes bhai, u r right. but it does not mean that we just memorise but also to ponder over them, change oneself,etc. eg. if we memorise His name Al-Adl - the Just, then we should not oppress anyone.
prophet (peace be upn him) said: Allah has ninety-nine Names, i.e., one hundred minus one, and whoever 'ahsaha' [enumerates them, believes in them, ponders their meanings, worships Allah by them and supplicates with them, and acts by them according to one's belief in them] will enter Paradise..."
(hadith recorded in sahih bukhari)
