So much symbolism in the latest episode that I don't have words to describe adequately: the shot through the banyan tree as Raghav and Pallavi walked outside to talk, Raghav brought to his knees as he was no longer with his paison ka ghamand (since it won't help him in this situation), enveloped in darkness with only a street lamp to provide a bit of light (as in not all is lost), contrasted with Pallavi in the bright colorful room while she felt devoid of color, Pallavi finally taking a good look at herself in the mirror and breaking free of the kaanton ki bediyan that made her feel trapped in this relationship.
Pallavi's responses to D-fam were well worded. She had to run around and be the ideal bahu for this family until not so long ago and now she is able to tell them to her face that she will do what her heart desires instead of following what is expected of her. They in turn support her and genuinely want her to do so with a smile. How things have changed. The Pallavi who was thrown out without rights on this house and family and the Pallavi who has returned claiming her rights on them openly and boldly are two different people. She knows that she will never be the same again and she has no idea how to face Pallavi 2.0 herself, because it is a result of her life being connected to Raghav's.
As much as she might hate it, the fact is that falling in love with Raghav and being married to him has changed her. It awakened the spark in her that had been missing and had given her a taste of what it was like to be free. Now she realizes that even freedom comes at a cost, one that she may not necessarily want to bear. She had walked out of the D-house so many times with her head held high, holding Raghav's hand, yet she had ended up back in that very room, almost as if back to square one. Yet she wasn't quite the same person and her view of the world was very different. She was finally seeing the true colors of the world for the first time, as if awakened from a trance.
Once upon a time we saw a scene where both Pallavi and Raghav were trapped in a cage. The obvious reference initially was to Pallavi being trapped in her life at the Ds, but over time we discovered that Raghav was also caged in by his past and trauma. Right now, the D-house is no longer the cage it used to be for Pallavi, she is free to soar in the sky but her wings are wounded so she can't fly even if she wants to. Only Raghav can heal her but she won't let him near her, understandably.
She may have decided to stay at D-house now and call it her own but her heart is restless because of and without the man she fell in love with and considered her whole world. As much as Pallavi may want to soar alone, somewhere her heart would realize that she wants Raghav by her side during her flight. Except, he himself is wounded and unable to fly. In fact, Raghav, is still in that cage and only Pallavi can take him out (I'm guessing by dealing with Esha later on) and allow them both to breathe freely to start with, and then decide where and how they want to fly together.
It's a shame it came so late in the story but I'm still glad they are at least touching upon Pallavi's self-discovery moments. I won't say phase because it's all going to be rushed before wrapping up the show, but I'm glad they dedicated this episode to her expressing herself in whatever way she wanted to, whether it was to Raghav, to the Ds, or to herself.
