I made my first ever post, a lamba sa defence of Pallavi, when mirchi prank ke baad Pallavi redemption ki baat shuru hui thi. Tab se logon ko guilty Pallavi hi chahiye- guilty for silence when Raghav asks about Vat Savitri, guilty for loving her family, guilty for not cutting ties with Vijay sooner than she did, guilty for investigating Mandaar's death, guilty for being shocked when she saw her late husband, alive and well, guilty for wanting to help him recover.

Yeah, if we count then there are comparatively lesser instances of Raghav manhandling Pallavi... and the toning down worked for sure. His redemption post wedding was another great thing.

I had not watched ITV for a long time and it was ghum that caught my attention first bc it was the first time I saw a girl call out her in laws for their trash behavior. And a male lead who wasn’t this overtly angry , misogynistic hateful male lead. But in the end it was too repetitive and they botched male lead character beyond repair.

PS - it’s not all the leads. It’s just Shiva who is extra aggressive and is constantly manhandling Raavi. It’s been toned down again but for a while there - every argument involved him grabbing her by the arms, her wincing in pain and people gushing like omg look at all that raw s**ual tension.

I have a thing for s**ual tension in a fight (have any of you seen 2005 pride and prejudice - the Darcy and Elizabeth fight in the rain??) but it doesn’t have to get physical.
