It was almost 30 years ago? You were in school that time?

Yup I was in school ...I remember feeling sorry for the widowed lady in the show because one of my aunts lived single and we knew how hard it was for her.

Yes those shows were realistic because no trp drama, no forced marraiges, no dead husband coming back etc.

Such beautiful times before kekta mata and her influences destroyed ITV and regional TV both. 🤢

Your aunt never remarried I guess?

Those were hard times for women but now widows and divorced girls can marry easily. The stigma is there but not too much.

No..never remarried , lived alone with support of her brothers and she passed away too...those times were very hard on women....and stigma and judgements came from very own people..I remember at my wedding there were people who told me not to get kumkum from that aunt ...because she was technically widowed even though she never lived with that man.. I still fought without words by just going to her and taking it. Because you can't fight that battle with big words. Only with action..and no need to explain to anyone.

I was like how can her blessings be wrong for me...if anything ..these women know the loneliness and never wish it on others .

I know MHRW people focus a lot on Raghavi and chemistry etc..and want Pallavi to behave as if she was never a widow...just move on with Raghav ..but the show was really showcasing society 's approach to widows.. in auspicious events...in family... very well...

Yes if only people that time were as free thinking as it is today. These days even a widow with a child can also get remarried. Only proves how far we have come.

Na Bole Tum also showed and tried to normalize a widow's life in society and modern times. In NBT Megha fell in love with Mohan first but was unable to express it . Think about this way maybe. your aunt also may have fallen for someone but never expressed it in fear of society.
