There is a set top box attached to every tv set which emits signals to a black meter installed by cable TV associations. This meter is mostly found in cable walas offices. In two or three tiers cities, the metre box is kept in houses on chargeable basis.

Currently for a population of 1.3 billion there are only 50000 metre boxes across the country. They record the impressions as per signals recd.

Actually it is very dangerous for ones health, the high emf waves can cause life threatening diseases ( this info was shared by my cable guy).

Then there are dth providers who have their own data. Unfortunately everything is scattered and fragmented and though BARC is the authorised data collection agency, it's still controlled by pvt players.

Trps helps the ad companies to bargain prices for slots when a particular show is on air. The revenue which comes from these ads is shared by the channel and producer as per the ratio decided by the concerned parties. Everything is bound by contracts

Therefore high trps means better ad revenue and profit margins.

They have put restrictions on hotstar mobile app for screen recording!

Its easier to restrict screen recording in apps than on websites. Actually it's impossible to stop screen recordings, there are too many hacks. When sites like Netflix fall in this trap, expecting Hotstar to stop it is unreasonable.

exactly mai khush hu with this stable trp and happy our show is trending everywhere.. couple toh hmara sizzler hai😎... humko trp se ghanta farak nhi pd rha hai.. hum toh finale tk yhi hai.. jo hoga dekha jayega.. exactly this trp worst thing ki vjse itv badnam hai.. channels should understand this thing and should provide new prime time slots to all new shows n jo purane hai unko backseat pe bithana chahiye.. kitne saal yr 2-3 shows ko sir pe bitha k na hoge let others also get chance to tell their story

I think we needn't worry. I have not really watched any other Evng Time Slot serial previously but it was only MHRW which was able to pull me in with its plotline❤️ .

I think all these serials that ran before, IPKKND2 - Shlok Aastha, Suhani Si Ek Ladki, Jaana Na Dil Se Door - They also weren't getting 1+ TRPs na? I have no clue but that's what I think. Correct me if I'm wrong .

Ours' is in a safe timeslot as these serials I think ran for almost 1-2 yrs & Sitara then can't pressure too much to change the plotlines as it does to its PrimeTime ones to get TRPs. Also, it's COVID Time, most ppl're just not watching TV cos they have bigger things to deal with, pata nahi, maybe that might also be causing this.

Theek karna hai toh ek hi upaay hai, Star Plus needs to give Repeat Telecasts during Noon hours so Aunties also get interested in the show🤷. Ek bhi aur show dekhne laayak nahi hai, every single show has a stupid Triangle going on. It's just bakwas well apart from Sony Channel Ones ofcourse 💕.
