I liked that she stood her ground today. She's not apologising for keeping Kirti's secret, even in light of the almost-running-away and his anger, which he's unfairly unloading on her, because she knows it was the right thing to do. Would Raghav share details of Farhad's private life with Pallavi just because they're married? Then why expect her to? Yes, it's complicated because Kirti is his sister, but just because they're married, even if she had fully accepted the relationship, doesn't mean all her other relations should revolve around him.

She also impressed me with her overall sane thinking today. When Kirti went missing, Farhad was absolutely the right person to call. He has the presence of mind, capability and resources to effectively track her down (though I'm guessing Raghav already had eyes on her, but still a good approach by Pallavi). And she told Jaya too. Again, a deviation from what I expect from TV show bahus- a usual FL would go off on a secret 'find Kirti' mission, with the agenda to bring her back home before anyone finds out, and then face the brunt of the fallout for trying to solve this alone.

Also deviated from the norm with her talk with Jaya. I am starting to like the Jaya-Pallavi dynamics. Pallavi never holds back from calling her out, be it today or be it for the wedding ultimatum. But Pallavi does it in such a respectful and dignified manner, that Jaya also always receptively, and even respects her right to an opinion as a member of the family, like when she was hyperventilating today, and Pallavi apologised for bringing up the trauma, she instantly went "No, it's okay" even in that state, and further asked her thoughts, and listened to what she said. Great saas-bahu dynamics, love to see it.

Also, kudos to Shivangi for today. Loved how she depicted Pallavi's exhaustion in that opening scene, where she just collapsed and let her mind replay the last few hours. And she owned this exhaustion, when she told Raghav she's out of energy, doesn't have it in her to hear more. Well done 👏👏

Pallavi post marriage, I mean after things cleared out between her and Raghav, has become so relatable in her ways of dealing with any issue or problem. It started with her telling Raghav to give it a rest with his efforts to apologize to baba which shows that she is not exactly blind to her family's shortcomings, including Ayi.. Yesterday I was watching the episode where she rebukes Raghav right after he comes back from D house after giving them the video confession proof of BWA's involvement in the MMS scandal citing it as the reason for the MU that led him to lie about him and Pallavi and doing the whole tamasha.. He tells her that they didn't believe him and that they don't trust her..they don't deserve her etc etc..She obviously is enraged and slaps him for badmouthing her family.. but what she says in their defense and her own in trying to always put them on a pedestal, made so much sense.. Pallavi, is the kind of person and I had said it back then too, who is capable of looking past someone's flaws/wrongdoings IF that person has done or shows intention of doing anything good for her or good in general. Her family are a ''bunch of crazy people'' like Raghav loves to call them but the fact of the matter is that they DID gave her a home and family when they could've easily cut ties with her after Mandhar died.. She said it and I so admire her for it, that Ayi Baba lost their son too, but they put their grief aside and looked after me, protecting me from society's name calling, helped me cope with with everything and accepted me as their daughter.. She has immense gratitude for them for that very reason and no matter how they treat her, she will always remember it and will forgive them.. That's Pallavi.. she was never weak, gullible, doormat, push over or blind.. She is very sensible and sensitive at the same time.. That's why Amma values her opinion and wanted to know what she feels and thinks about the whole matter now that she knows what happened in their past.. Pallavi was honest, neutral, objective at the same time, very sensitive and respectful in explaining how she felt about the whole situation. Amma cannot look away from the facts she so sensibly put infront of her..the first breakthrough!

With Raghav too, I love how deals with him.. Intervenes when she has to, not because she wants to be the bossy wife but because she has a good reason to do it.. for instance she knows if he drinks he is very likely to act or say things that can make things worse..she has seen him drunk firsthand. That's the sensible Pallavi... She also knows when to stay quiet and not be in an argument even when he makes no sense.. like yesterday.. she knew why he was hurt and the reason was stupid.. but she now knows where that hurt is coming from..so she let him.. you can't help but love Pallavi and the way Shivangi portrays her..

I think the phase I was most frustrated or least able to relate to Pallavi was the abortion track, but they've never given us insight into her the way they have post the marriage. It's like there's been a whole spotlight on her ever since, telling us what she's thinking, why she's doing what she's doing. I think they responded well to the criticism during the abortion track, and in a way I think shows should respond to fans more often.

I feel so many shows take the route of either complete fan service, which destroys the story, or completely ignore what audiences are saying, which alienates audiences. MHRW has been doing a good job of hitting the right spot. They didn't reset Pallavi's character at all, but they just explain her better to us. It has made even actions I've disagreed with easier to understand.

For instance, in Pallavi's position, never in a million years would I have given Raghav a second chance after everything he pulled. So yes, on the surface, not a decision that I could fully support. But her rationale- knowing how it feels like to not be given a chance, and not wanting to do that to someone, or reciprocating the chance Raghav had given her when she needed it, that insight into her mind made the action completely understandable. They started this with the night before the wedding, when she told Krishna about her promise to Mandaar about making his family hers, and suddenly, I understood why she was willing to get blackmailed into that situation. That post MU clearing conversation with Raghav is an all-time favourite. You've covered everything important there, but again, her eloquence in making her point was great- they may be whoever they are, but it's a relationship she cultivated with lots of love- he had no right to trample all over it. This clarity of thought and expression was something we were sorely missing previously, making her often come across as irrational.

My favourite word for Pallavi these days is 'dignified', I think. She's strong willed, she's sharp, she knows her mind, and she knows how to stand her ground, but she's firm yet respectful while making her point. I even love the way she was going to Kohlapur- no drama, no theatrics, no showdowns where she is yelling at Raghav and Jaya for ruining her life. She just quietly packed her bags and booked her tickets. She carries herself with so much grace.

The way she responded to Kirti/Sunny as well, I adored her approach of "Look, I don't have a great impression of him. You're a smart girl, and a full grown adult, you can decide what to do, but please be careful." I found it very realistic, felt like exactly the kind of conversation I've had with friends when I've not liked the people they're dating.

True..we get a better insight into her thought process that justifies her actions even the ones that seemed completely off in the past..that is the right dialogues in the right scene make such a difference. Though my understanding of her actions during the abortion track was simple.. She had a two point agenda 1.) Clearing her name (I was miffed when she took the blame) 2.) Making sure Manasi's wedding goes uninterrupted and for that she wanted to not let Amruta's name come out infront of everyone especially Rahul's parents. She was mad at Raghav only because his grand expose put a major dent in her plan no.2 which resulted in Manasi's wedding being called off.. That is what she was trying to avoid because she knew how much Manasi wanted to marry the guy.

Agree she has been very sensible in the Keerthi Sunny matter as well... During the scuffle between mother and daughter the other day, I liked how she said " tumne abhi abhi Amma ko itni badi baat batayi hai, unko samajhne ka mauka to do" THAT! I mean all this time she didnt have "himmat" to talk to Amma about Sunny especially when she has been repeatedly asking..and then all of sudden she drops a bomb and expects her to side step and allow her to leave the house just like that.

Yeah, her reasoning made sense, but her approach was a bit flawed. She should have communicated a little bit better, her constantly defaulting to shouting matches got too much at one point. Plus, my frustration was less on why she's doing things, but the overall repeated blows to her self respect she was willing to take. It made a lot of sense to me in retrospect, particularly with the reasons you listed, but while they were airing, those episodes got on my nerves a little.

That one scene with Raghav post marriage right before she faints, justified a lot of her actions..to some extent..I know she went overboard a lot of times.. I was more pissed when that contestant from the competition she won, accused her of having a relationship with Raghav and BWA added fuel to the fire. That time she didnt defend herself and I was like why? But sometimes, characters are dumbed down or made to behave out of character, to suit the storyline. And that time, the reason for the unreasonable behaviour was to deepen the rift and mistrust of Vijay Deshmukh on Pallavi. It was all gearing up for the final showdown when the memories of these incidents add up to Raghav false accusation and baba loses any shred of trust that was left in his relationship with Pallavi.

I agree! That scene was a great idea, excellent execution, put so much in perspective.

Oof, I forgot all about that contestant. IDK how this girl was listening to all that about herself and not speaking up.

Yeah, I think it's good to keep this in mind while watching daily shows. Characters will often be compromised for story, thoda sa hawa mein filter karna padta hai to keep enjoying.

Word...agree with Pallavi's character arc analysis that you penned out and about Shivangi's depiction. Too good..two scenes that stood out for me are the ones where she is just alone in the living room absorbing and processing all the information coming to her. Her emotions are so well depicted on her face ....

I always supported Pallavi in taking a stand for her Aai Baba because no matter how much we call them trashmuks they gave her a family . I know lots here think why she couldn't go back to her dada vahini but the truth is she was craving for parental love ..someone to call Aaai Baba. And they did a good job with her until issues with Raghav came about. Aai still has been very supportive of Pallavi.

Also she enjoyed being thier son..thier pillar of support. Its in her nature to be a support system. Now that she us coming to know Raghav's vulnerable side she will be a pillar to him too.

Her conversations with Amma are beautiful , as rightly pointed by you. Amma also has a receptive mind and because she respects Pallavi , she hears her out. She is breaking the wall the Raos have built around themselves , hope soon she is able to help Raghav and Keerti communicate .

Great writeup Misty.

Good going Shivangi !!
