Gajra are very much worn by south Indian brides that too in summer when mogra are in abundance. The look goes with her character. I personally like the gajra on Shivangi...only they need to reduce make up on face and keep it simple.

TBH, I the look I liked the least was the blue and pink sari when she was leaving for Kohlapur. The hair and makeup was insane, it looked so harsh. So my personal strategy now is, whenever I see a look and it's not great, I remind myself of that, and just go, eh, could be worse.

Her hair did look so nice in that episode.. voluminous and bouncy yes! also she had fully recovered after being ill for a week or so.. she looked fresh and meatier.. lol These days I dunno what they do with her hair.Is it gel or oil? makes her hair look flat and greasy.

Not just outdated, her looks seem so out of place sometimes.

You know, one of my friends recently got married, and she was telling me how her parents have told her to always wear traditional attire when with in-laws, especially for the first few months, but she can't do it, because her MIL and SILs dress in jeans and leggings all the time, she'd look out of place. And that's exactly what I keep thinking when we see Pallavi so overdressed daily. Kirti and Jaya are in regular, everyday wear cotton attire, and Pallavi looks like she's off to attend a wedding.

Honestly, I think the saris get too much hate. She can wear some classy cotton silks, and even some of her deeper toned, non-neon, post wedding saris have been pretty. I especially liked the green one from the live they did for 100 epis, and the dark one where she is holding a jhaadu. But they need to tone down hair/makeup/accessories a smidge. She can still look like a newlywed bride, just doesn't have to look like she's coming straight from the mandap.

All actresses except for Keerthi have excess makeup.. BWA has few centimeters of makeup on her face..Why does an ITV vamp have to look a certain way? like female mahishasur? the su bindi and kajal is enough to set her apart..why put layers on foundation? Manasi these days looks like casper the ghost.. Amrutha looks so pretty offscreen.. Even Sharda and Jaya have a lot of makeup..Keerthi is the only one who looks normal and subtle,maybe because she does her own makeup..

I can get behind the gajra, and it's nice that they're aiming for cultural appropriateness! But they can style it a bit better maybe? Like, perhaps use fewer strings, and not flatten her hair so much? The way it's currently styled, it kills any volume in her hair, and they use so many flowers, it completely dwarfs her out, especially considering how dainty her face is.

Yes. I never felt gajra out of place. It maybe because I saw a lot of newly-wed in gajra. Even her sarees are also similar to sarees worn by newly-wed in South.

My problem is with her heavy makeup and occasionally weird hairstyle.

Yes, I get why they incorporated the gajra look.. Even the heavy sarees are there for the same reason. But the way they style it, it looks very unflattering. I would much prefer to have the gajra in a single layer around a big low bun near her neck. She has plenty of hair to make a big bun like Aishwarya's character had in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.. and they can mix it up with open hair without gajra on some days..

P.S- advantage of having her hair in a bun occasionally is that the backless blouses will look sexier..

I have often wondered whether they made Sulochana cartoonish on purpose. I mean, seriously, WTF is up with the colorful sindoor? I may be completely ignorant, but I've never in my life come across something like that. And where is she custom ordering her bindis? I found it absolutely hilarious when the show began, now I'm just used to it, but you're absolutely right on the cakey makeup. Also, I'm getting nitpicky now, but the team is terrible with eyebrows.

Ooh, is Sayali doing her own makeup? Petition for her to be everyone's makeup artist. It's a win-win: additional paycheck for her, and less crew to manage in bio-bubble. 😜

Hahaha I don't know if Sayali does her own makeup but she stands out as normal..rest everyone is OTT..so I guessed maybe she does her own makeup😆 ITV will never dare to break certain stereotypes and the vamp dressing up like some stage character from a Ram Leela is one of them..
