Hey there...I know looong looong time...😳
Anyway, just caught up on both the episodes, yesterday's Maha episode and today's. Overall, I was pleased with the quick and crisp execution of the screenplay. The lack of the drag and delay and the overly dramatized confrontations was extremely refreshing. I guess I should congratulate the entire team on the work. As a viewer who probably catches the show today for the first time, or catches up after a break, the story now has the punch added to it, and now its going to be an extremely engrossing drama! So...well done on that front!
Ok, small things that I loved. I have always loved the way this show portrays little gestures. Like yesterday when Priya enters the house after the grahapravesh, she seems to slow a bit before she takes the first step. I dont know whether it was a part of the script, but the supporting hand that Aditya offers speaks volumes for a symbologist on the upcoming track of their married life and the hurdles they are to face.
I loved the way, the story brought out the "not so long ago" memory of being a newly wed daughter -in-law which now has become a an emotional battle in Vidya's life. Here, though the idea was brilliant, the actor could have done a better job with the sudden burst of tears. Related to this, I would like to commend the dialogue writer who makes Vidya say "You are a man, but me being the woman, is the reason, tomorrow the society will point fingers at and blame, for not being able to give this family a heir". Very true and right in your face! I loved it.
I liked the contrast that was brought out in the lives of the four women, as Priya lies in bed unconscious, everyone worried about the current occurrences, yet lost in their own world of problems.
Finally, the confrontation scene. Yes it was well done, but personally I would liked to see more expressions on Ridhi's face as she relives the memory of the traumatic past which stands before her as a present. As much detail that has been paid by the script in the past with respect to Priya baggage, today when she came to face with the ugly truth, somehow her expressions and the direction on that count, fell a little flat. But Bramhmanand was brilliant, with his screen presence and he literally had me swallow my nausea at his attitude and thought.
Ok, finally moving over to today, yes Vidya as usual was confused about her state of affairs. Which is acceptable, since I havent seen previous episodes of her slowing rising up to voice her thoughts, but somewhere personally I would have liked it better if she is now shown more stronger in her stand. Her expressions seem to belie that strength, unless the objective here is to have her develop her thought process slowly with the help of Priya in the future. If thats the case, the whole her supposed conversation with Gaurav pretty much made little sense.
Aditya in yesterday's episode did his job well as a caring and understanding husband, but today he seemed to be back to the Aditya before the wedding. Is it the enthusiasm and joy of being newly wed? Somewhere, I wished he was jumping a little less.
Once again the emotional blackmail battle between Gaurav and Devyani. As a viewer though I am happy that the character sketch is intact, I do feel a little impatient as to where does this score settle? Just as Gaurav seems to develop some spine, Devyani manages to tie him back with all the "Just this once" dialogue. Who is going to finally break?
Uttara and Rishab..were brilliant. Personally, I believe these two are the best actors in the show. They did their job as actors, but somewhere the screenplay was a little too dramatic for me! Does Rishab really need to plead suicide to get Uttara rushing back? Fine how is he going to get her to go to Rastogi? Brute force? That seems to be the only option from what I can see, unless Uttara decides to just give up the battle and bear the brunt of this abuse and have Rishabh finally lose out on every once of affection Uttara has for him.
So well, Maryada folks...overall I was pleased. I want to see where this goes..and you won this game as of now!! :D
Yah, I loved two more things : One the detailing of the grahapravesh with all the rasams, espcially the aarti scene and the outfits you chose for the entire family, especially Devyani, Uttara and Priya. Vidya could have done better...more length on the lehenga with the high heels would have been preferable! ;)
Catch you all soon again 🤗
