@Fivr, I am a long-time member of the cynics club too...😆 But I always enjoy the first few weeks of every new show! Its just like a love-affair...everything is rosy-tinted and wonderful in the beginning...but you know that the downfall is almost inevitable! Atleast, tab tak toh, we can indulge in a little bit of glorification! Afterwards, its only threats of writing to the Creatives about how they are messing up the show! 😆
LOL!! Arey! In that case... *scoots over some more* Please join the party! 😆
@bold: LMAO!!! I agree with you!! I always test the waters the first two weeks - get my toes wet and see if it's a good match. But even then, if I see a possible sign of a future track that might lead to the massacre of my common sense yet again, then the warning bells go off right away.. 😆
@Anu, I agree with your answers to Fivr's post! And I feel its great to show Aditya having a character flaw...instead of being perfect, Mr. Goody-two-shoes or alternatively an arrogant pig who tries to act smart all the time! Priya might have been silenced by Aditya's sudden attack of love and anger, but she is surely not going to give in so easily! Even though dispirited and shattered by her past, she doesn't seem to be a weak person at all! Adi should put his marriage plans on hold, me thinks! 🤔Lolz...and I thought I was the only one who suspected that Priya was not planning to jump off the train, but it was Aditya's loud, 'OYE' which caused her to lose balance and almost fall off! 😆 I did crack up when he called her like that! It was unintentionally funny and quite in keeping with Aditya's character!
I didn't think Priya was jumping off the train right then either - she was clearly startled by his "OYE!" and wasn't actually going to jump - but she was definitely contemplating. And while Aditya was under the assumption that she was actually going to jump when he called her bluff, she got stunned by the realization that he'd voiced her thoughts and what she'd been contemplating. She wasn't lost in thoughts alone - she was lost in thoughts that seemed to make suicide seem like a possible solution (not one she'd be willing to take at that moment anyways but a possible "option" nonetheless).
And coming to that "OYE!" - funny as it was.. Why would Aditya think it was okay to startle a girl who he thought was clearly on the brink of suicide?! I mean she is standing in front of an open door, staring out side of a moving train. What had he expected would happen when he yelled like that - other than exactly what did happen.. 🤣
Priya's expression on hearing Aditya say, 'Manne Randwa Chod kar ja rahin hain...' was too much! I was caught between laughter and mush! Adi is too matter-of-fact...within 24 hours of meeting a girl, he has fallen in love with her and asked her...no actually, told her that he is going to marry her! 😆 No wonder, Priya was left speechless! Aisa koi pehle mila nahin hoga!

@Fivr: I completely agree with you and the others too. I live in Delhi and have come across many Haryanvi guys. Some, who're unlike Adi, tend to think of a girl as their personal property even right after the first glance. But the fact here is... he was emotionally shocked by her act. And when you have your emotions out of control you tend to forget what you're doing. By the end of that conversation, if you notices, when his anger had subdued. He just grabbed her arm once to make her listen to him. That might be because he's a guy and that to a Haryanvi, who are agressive as well as egoistic! So if a girl doesn't listen to them, it comes naturally making her listen to them. That is the fault of the highly orthodox patriachal upbringing that to an extent i've seen in my family. And the level of man-handling in the episode, happens in my family to for tinest of the reason. I hope you understood my point! 😊
I was thrown off by the harsh confrontation because I thought that the creatives were suggesting that was "romantic" and showed how much he "cared". The fact that he worried and got angry shows to me that he cared - the fact that he pushed her around as he tried to get through to her just shows me that he has quite an inflated ego and sense of entitlement. So that's why I was put off because I thought that they'd gotten the character wrong and that they were confusing "romance" with "disrespect".But as all of you guys have explained (in bold), it seems to be a character flaw in all Haryanvi men to an extend. Due to their upbringing and their conditioning they seem to think that they don't have to answer to their women and that they have a slightly superior say in the relationship - sort of a know-all, do-all. I don't say I'm judging them, but knowing this makes Aditya's actions a bit clearer to me.Now when I look at that scene, I realise that the creatives weren't trying to show "romance" in his physical harshness with Priya - they were trying to give a glimpse into the other side of Adi, the one who things he's entitled to anything he sets his mind on. And since that's exactly what I saw in the scene too, I believe the CVs have done a fabulous job! They made me angry and upset at his behavior - which was what they'd hoped to accomplish. So I'm quite happy with the scene - even if I'm not happy with the behavior itself. 😆Now my worry is that they'll undermine the seriousness of this issue and make Priya "accept" his harsh behavior and "love" him irrespective. And that is something I don't think I'd be able to swallow. It's never okay to use force on anyone - especially not the woman you love and marry. 😳
