Zee Marathi premierd the first episode of it's new Horror show Chandravilas on 27'th March.

Here is the offficial plot-line of Chandravilas :

When Ananta and his 16-year-old daughter Sharvari visit their ancestral home,

Chandravilas, the 200-year-old spirit of a lecherous Narhari Pant haunts Sharvari.

I have watched some of the episodes of CV. The show does not fail to not impress, only

to some extent, but neither does it get you to the edge of the seat.

Dead Narhari Pant seems to have taken hold of Anant Mahajan's father and from the looks

of it things are not looking good for Sharvari for Pant seems to be gunning for her. We

don't exactly know why, though indications are there for everybody to see the kind of

man Pant must have been when he was alive.

CV is ok in writing department. From the acting point of view, the actor playing the

role of anant Mahajan's father is good. Sagar Deshmukh is convincing , Abha Bodas as

Sharvari and other supporting actors are ok.

Put up your views and criticism of the Chandravilas in this thread , if you are watching

the show.

And Nana arose from the dead.

Now that Narhar Pant is out of Nana's body will Nana remember he was possesed by Narhar Pant and if he does how will he save his son from being possesed by Pant ? I am interested in seeing how Pant will posses Anant. Does Pant have ability to affect things in material world ? The fact that he broke the mirror indicates he might.

Sharvari is quite ann irritating character. When she runs out to get wood for the pyre, I smiled and said does she even know how much wood it takes to burn a man and the next moment her father said exactly the same thing.

But there is something missing in the show, I cannot put my finger on. CV is ticking all the boxes of a good horror show yet it is not having a strong impact as it should be having

I too will give it a few more episodes and then stop watching it, As I said earlier, I cannot put my finger on what is missing. Vaibhav Mangle is trying but he han' been able to pull up the show. So far, it is Nana, Anant Mahajan's father, who has been the mosr impressive of the cast even though he does not have much to do.

I watched 4 episodes of this show and it looks a bit basic😊.

It lacks the background music for a horror show and the horror environment too🤢.

Chandravilas reminds me of Ek Ghar Manterlele that also had a Wada as it's focal point👍🏼. But EGM had haunting background music and Mrutyunjay bungalow had the feel of a haunted place👍🏼, Chandravilas lacks that😵.

There is no terrifying character in Chandravilas like that of old man in Ek Ghar Manterlele😒. The Character of Tara is more mystifying that frightening.

My opinion is they should have chosen the actor who plays the role of Nana to portray the Bhoot(Narhar Pant)👍🏼.

Sagar Deshmukh put up a really good performance in Babasaheb Ambedkar serial but can he be as effective in a horror show 😎 ?

I will continue watching Chandravilas for some more episodes as I like horror shows but I just hope it does not turn into another STAK

This show is not going anywhere😵.

Vaibhav Mangle is miscast as Narhar Pant🥱,

The way he is wheezing he needs some very good cough syrup😆. Narhar Pant looks less scary and more of a caricature.

Other actors including Sagar Deshmukh have not been able to prop up the show.😛.

The role of Tara played by Pooja Thombre from Dil Dosti Duniyadari ⭐️.

I watched two episodes, it felt sub-par. I remember bits of EGM and the horror-suspense Ratris Khel Chaale.. the buildup there was actually scary. Here we can make out poor sfx and VFX.

They seem to have completely lost the way, this is the second book of Narayan Dharap Zee has adapted into a show. Grahan was ok to start with but Chandravilas has just gone from bad to worse.

You need special skills to turn a good book into a good show. I don't know if Dharap's book is good or not but the show is certainly subpar as DelusionsofNeha pointed out.

Mangle went OTT playing Pant and paid the price for it. Except the actor portraying the role of Nana no other actor has been able to do justice to the characters, may be the characters themselves have been written badly.

Deshmukh doesn't fit the horror genre.

I doubt if they will be able to recover from this terrible start.

Poor writing and directing too, I guess, of the actors are good (I haven't watched their other shows so, can't say). Sometimes good actors perform terribly simply cuz they have to work with whatever is given to them. Not sure what exactly goes wrong here but not even the set design feels spooky.

I wonder if the show would do better as a suspense thriller than a horror show.
