I was not very convinced with Sambhaji's characterization post leap, felt that he was being portrayed as too heroic. But in recent episodes they are showing many facets of his character, mainly his aggression and rebellious nature, along with his bravery and action oriented style.

I still feel they should have shown some of these traits before leap. From what I have read in books, he was pampered in childhood, but he became too lonely after Jijabai's demise. There was no one after her who could control him. Shivaji raje was too busy with his battles and Soyrabai turned bitter towards him right after Rajaram's birth. There were few people in Ashta Pradhan Mandal who were no fond of him from quite young age. Now that they have missed this, I hope they show his temporary downfall convincingly and gradually, giving proper focus to how situations made him betray Shivajiraje at one point.

On acting front Amol is doing a great job.

Was there any proper scene of father and son after the leap? I missed couple of episodes and don't remember any. I am waiting to watch their scenes together.

He is being portrayed as a character many shades.

He's a good commander, wonderful son, slowly getting romantic, a great leader and STRAIGHTFORWARD.

This last quality is the one which puts him at odds with the ministers. He's unafraid to call a spade a spade and hates lies, causing disturbances among the two ministers who are corrupt.

My only problem is a few episodes after leap and the connection from pre leap to post leap episodes. The clashes because of his straightforwardness should have been shown in his young age too. That's why it looked abrupt to me after the leap.

Of course shivaji Raje had one of the biggest contributions in the rich history of our nation, but I wish we were taught more about shambhu and even the peshwas.

Shambhu Raje was also undefeated like Bajirao the first and died undefeated.

He was betrayed by his own brother-in-law.

He overcame all the internal politics of anaji datto and the other ministers.

But his end, gory and horrific end, was because of his own brother-in-law!

I also saw Dr. Amol kolhe's stage performance as shambhu , the speech he gave before the cut his tongue. Damn! Fiery speech. Goosebumps!

And every article says the same. He faced a lot of internal politics from the corrupt ministers and eventually soyrabai.

Defeated all of them, earned his throne and did a good job in his short reign of nine years.

Respect for Shambhu Raje!

I haven't read Chhava, but there is another book titled 'Sambhaji' by Vishwas Patil. Traces his whole life journey with proper emphasis on his unbelievable single handed 9 years long fight with comparatively HUGE army led by Aurangzeb. There is a 25+ pages chapter dedicated to his last battle with Aurangzeb and how the betrayal by Yesubai's brother led to Shambhu Raje being caught by Mughals. Reading that for the first time had given me a sleepless night!!
