No Narayani, no Mamta!
Recent reports claimed that Narayani Shastri had been sacked from Zee's Mamta, but now we're hearing that the channel has asked producer Sheel Kumar to wind up the show!
When we probed further, we discovered that Mamta is winding up by the second week of October. Narayani is currently set to shoot her death scene and Kumar is working overtime to give the show a logical end.
Says Narayani, "Sheel told me he was terminating my character a little before the last episode as that would save him money. I'm going by his word. I will be shooting the death scene day after tomorrow. It has to be done in the next 48 hours as I'm leaving for Mauritius for the Gold Awards soon."
Sheel too confirms that Mamta is coming to an end. "The last episode will be telecast on October 10. Zee will replace Mamta with a new show by Jay Mehta," he says.
