Amrapalli Gupta -From cameos to lead roles

Fresher Amrapalli Gupta is pinning her hopes on her first lead role in 'Teen Bahuraaniyaan' for surviving on the idiot box. The soap produced by actor Paresh Rawal and his better half Swaroop Sampat promises to have a 'different' role for Amrapalli. "It is a saas-bahu drama which is dealt with differently and also has some comic element to it," says the new kid on the block.
Having played the lead in 'Khushiyan', on DD, the lass from Lucknow did a string of cameos in 'Dulhann', 'Pyaar Ke Do Naam', 'CID' and other serials. But she attributes her recent break as 'my first major project.'
And how did that happen? "Actually nothing special happened. I was called for the auditions and probably they thought I fit the role, so they offered it to me."
She plays the character of Bindi who 'is the youngest of the new generation bahus', says the young actress. "She is a small town girl, who is tom boyish and bubbly but in a beautiful way. She wears ghagra-cholis and plays with kanchas and gilli danda. Though she belongs to a village she believes that she can become whatever she wants to."
The 'many shades' of the character appealed to Amrapalli to take up the role. The girl identifies herself with the bubbly nature of the character. But similarities in real life end there. In fact she 'had put in a lot of effort to do things like playing with gilli danda.'
She had even hurt a few people on the sets while trying to do so. The excitement of working in Paresh Rawal production is evident in the actress. Though she has not met the producer duo, she is quite excited being into the camp. "Hemantji from the production side has been very good to us. He is always worried as to how we will go home and about our various needs. There is a lot of support that we are getting," explains the cat-eyed beauty.
The girl is certainly having a great experience and enjoying the shoot. She shares a good relationship with the girls who play Kadambari and Manwa who have become good friends of hers now.
Amrapalli is serious about her role and wants to concentrate on it at the moment. Therefore she has not taken up a new project. She has just done a serial for DD and also an album which is yet to be released
