Okay, so there is a lot of anger out there about Mahi's rejection of Shiv. And I feel quite differently! Surely I am not the only one?!!!! Am !???

Shiv is an awesome guy - true - but that doesn't mean that Mahi sees it that way. The heart wants what it wants. Also true that what Mahi wants is nonsense - a&^^%% Ishan and idiot Dev.

But that's who she is - a little immature and superficial. We all know that she will come to realize etc etc....Thats what character growth means.

I like the fact that this show is taking things slowly. Mahi accepting shiv would've been like any typical saas-bahu show. I like that they are taking their time over this. I am not convinced about Shiv's feelings for Mahi - they could have shown that developing...but this show is about Mahi.

As superficial and immature as she may be, I still care about this character! So go Mahi!

no sweets.... me agree....posted it on a different post...
yes apparently ppl just see a good chemistry between 2 ppl....and we want them together....what rubbish....
as I said before if mahi accepted him it would be only due to the pressure the fly and friends are putting on her....shiv deserves more and better....I want mahi to understand shiv....have feelings for him....and then accept his love....
shiv better start fighting to get his love....

aha! Thanks shali! Sorry I missed your other post - glad to see someone agrees!
Relationships doesn't just happen - you have to work at them - and hopefully Mahi will realize - i am sure she will - after all, this is a TV show! But its wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than the other rot that masquerades as entertainment!

I've never posted on this forum before but I have to this time because I really agree with you. At first, I was angry at the rejection too. But Mahi is immature. All the Mills and Boon books have corrupted her head. Shiv is truly an amazing guy. But I think now that Shiv has faced rejection, he won't be chasing her anymore and eventually it'll be like role reversal. Unlike Mahi always saying, "Sorry, Shiv I'm busy," Shiv will be the one who will try to avoid her. Eventually, Mahi will realize.

Mahi is the way she is for a reason – it's difficult for her to accept anyone because all her life she's only been taught that being a certain way means being beautiful. I agree that Mahi will eventually develop feelings for Shiv – and when that happens, she'll truly understand how important Shiv is in her life. If she would accept him right now, it would just be to meet the demands of her mother's ultimatum which is not something Shiv deserves.

Firstly....I just LOVED your post.....
I've been wanting to say the same thing al along....and I was waiting for a suitable topic to spring up!

Okay getting back to the point:

The one thing which attracted me to the show was that there was no melodrama, OTT characters, and pious all goody-goody leads.
I enjoy Mahi Way and Mahi because they are REAL. I know persons like Mahi....I can relate to most of the situations in Mahi Way.

Now some ppl are complaining ki Mahi is shallow, superficial. Yes, she is. But BIG DEAL! Doesn't everyone have their negative points? Nobody can be perfect! One can understandably feel angry with Mahi for being so immature....but saying she's gone beyond redemption and all.....isn't that like an overreaction?
Like someone said, Mahi has been brought up in such an environment ki she goes only by looks and personality.....
She'll learn her lesson. She'll change for the better. Character growth will happen. Where's the problem?

As far as Shiv and his rushed confession is concerned; well, he confessed when he wanted to. I know I wouldn't have gone into the logic of the situation and the probability of getting a yes if I'd been in Shiv's place. There are many people like that,I mean, who are spontaneous. And I think Shiv is that kind of a person....so for me, the confession was okay.

Hmmm....so allover....Mahi Way still rocks!

That's awesome! You guys totally nailed it!
This is a show that deals with real people who make mistakes, behave badly, & stumble through their lives with baggage and all. Thats what I like about it....I am so glad Mahi isn't a goody two shoes girl who accepts the first guy who proposes to her...however charming he might seem.

She has her dreams (however misguided they may seem to some!) and the guts to pursue them! Hurrah for Mahi! In the end, it will all work out!

Thanks y'all for chiming in!

I agree with you, I was initially mad at Mahi too but the more I think about it the more I am able to understand her point of view.

Yes, we all know that Shiv is perfect and Mahi understands that too but she like many girls does think that attraction is most important to start off a relationship.

She wasn't attracted to Shiv that way the first time they met. And eventually she got to know that it's her chaddi buddy Shiv. This is the guy she laughed with, cried with, who's seen the worst of her and the best. He's a friend and so it's hard for her to come to terms with her feelings for him so suddenly.

She obviously has feelings for him. Why else would she imagine him everywhere? Why would she dream of him smilingly? Why would she take the pains to deny again and again that she doesn't have feelings for Shiv?

She just needs to understand her feelings and accept them. I'm sure soon she will realize that Shiv is her dream man - the guy who understands her and supports her through thick and thin.

So yes, I still love Mahi and Mahi Way.

yah i agree with all of you, i'm so hapy some people understand. when it first happened i was mad to and then i thought why am i mad. is it because mahi is so lucky that a good looking guys, who's nice to her family, cares for her, likes her the way she is asks her out and she rejects it. mahis never going to get a guy liek that ever. and then i thought wow, so i'm saying mahi should accept this guy because she's like that a good looking guy can like her and this will never happen agian? mahi is smart, independant real women. she shouldnt have to go out with shiv just be cause shiv is the only guy that will ever give her a chance.

she should go out with shiv because she truly sees what a great man he is.( and he is a great one) but its only fair when she sees that
