Thank you so much for the elaboration. This show can help us to learn so much more about mythology and scriptures and symbolism, and you have explained it so well.

You are right the pentagram has no mention in hindu scriptures, its more a modern christian relevance that I stated in a very simplistic manner.

but its addition in the tattoo is interesting. Anyway, Christianity is being also significantly represented through the child who saved Shiva today.

The irony is that the Cardinal looking person in Poland, and the swami ji in India - the upholders of divinity so as to say, are the epitome of evil and the good lives in the innocence of the child who saves Shivanand and in Rudr who as you so rightly pointed lives among the dead.

Wonderful posts both of you. 😊

Line in bold, the irony is also in that only those who are upholders of divinity like you say, would be even aware of the nuances of the Mahakumbha, the Amrut and that there is a way to attain immortality. A common man would not be.

I found the scene where Shivanand rushes to hide the tatto/mark on Rudra'a back very interesting. Is that a tatto or a mark that he is born with? If this was just a tatto when Rudra tried to get it off it would not have healed by itself, nor it would have caused small turmoil in the atmosphere

Awesome post.very impressive.regarding the pentagram i could be wrong but as far as i remember earlier hindu tantric writing have mentions of pentagram in it.again it could have from greek as india and greek had trade connections from earlier times and greek symbols has some resemblance to indian symbols and vice versa.
its also associated in some form of magic.rangoli patterns of pentagrams are drawn and cowrie shells are thrown over it to find answers.
The pentagram represents the five elements of nature called as panchbooth by us and illustrates minds control over these elements and interestingy pagans also worship nature and so there could be a christian connection too..as pagans are widely known to use pentagrams.
An interstimg point is the serial already has a danbrownish style and knight of templars are known to use pentagrams .Does it signifies they are carriers of some ancient secret is a question?
so I'm not sure what way our serial would take but hope its going to be an interesting journey.

Hey Priya 😃 You watching MK also.
Thanks for the wonderful post and info.

Another point is Rudra is always around the ghats where cremations take place. In Hindus after cremation a body is said to become one with the "panch maha bhuta" vileen with them.

Air, water, fire, earth and sky. So the pentagon could be representing the panch mahabhutas.

I also thought the secret society has such a Dan Brown feel to it, who it is based on here? Opus Dei, Illuminati or even Knights Templar?

So Mahakumbh has started and nice to see you are back...

Caught an ad and thought of checking this side of the forum...

From the ad and your posts, it looks like this show wants to present a modern age Indian super-hero fare, perhaps anchored in Indian mythology to create the necessary gravitas.

Maybe a desi X-Men meets Immortals of Meluha...Interesting and ambitious if true..

Haven't seen it yet...maybe will follow it ..will scan your CB threads here to check how it is playing out...

Hopefully will catch up with old friends here...

HGG 😃🤗

While the hindi shows are great with emotional genre, we are really bad at X-men genre. But the first 3 epis have been quite good and promising.

Where I would love your inputs are on why has Poland been chosen as the centre spot?

It was neither the religious nor the political centre stage in world affairs, even in 1989, and certainly not in 2001, which was after the disintegration of USSR. A political setting blooper or is there a story we are not aware of?

This is a very HGG question don't you think?

hmm...
Did some basic research on Poland and what I see is that Poland was historically ruled by pagan (deemed non - Christians) tribal kings and somewhere around 965 the first historical ruler of present day Poland united the tribes, converted to Christianity through a baptism and firmly secured political stability. This is because under the then doctrine of the aggressive Roman Catholic church, it could not attack a 'member' Christian state. The religious tradeoff of this was that this put Poland firmly on the path of Christianity.

So maybe a historical reference to a common origin of Rudra as protector of Amrit from the time everyone was a pagan, with the origin shrouded in the mists of time, but still a global connection to pagans everywhere (read this as current deemed pagans aka Hindus)...

Or maybe its cheaper to shoot there...considering some of the show blurbs indicate a global shoot schedule...and you get a 'fresh' location to enhance the visual appeal of the show...😉

Hi maddy,
So happy to see you here and thanks for the info.interesting show isn't it.Missing u all .Do make posts more often .The story line seems intriguing and cast is impressive.indian mythology is full of symbols and rich in interpretations.so we may have fun exploring it.
Though the serial is having a danbrownish style my feel is it would be a different one and not the brotherhoods mentioned by brown.i didn't see the first episode properly.Where was the excavation place? is it same as poland? i wonder what an ancient book of india doing there? and again the guy was stealing for a group may be and shot by another.so atleast two groups are seem to be working at tandem.may be for different reasons? or do they have a common boss who is not shown yet.Lot of questions and intrigue.Hopefully they will tie it all in a proper way .Looking forward to have more discussions with you..

Garuda also signifies martial prowess, speed with it swoop down its enemy the serpents and interesting point is the bodyguards are also named as garudas and rudra also seems to posess all the martial prowess, the speed agility which was shown in the escape sequence .
There is also a tale from mahabharata of how garuda become the king of birds .It was said that the serpents had garudas family in capture and ask garuda to bring the amrit.Garuda went and fought with all and took the amrit and vishnu gave him immortality without even drinking amrit and asked him to be his vahan and serve him. Here too our rudra seems to be immortal without even having the elixir. He can survive under water and have supernatural powers. What interests me in garuda anecdote is garuda seems to be the true seeker of amrit and is powerful enough, but not for his own .He is ready to face death and has no fear of it and thus becomes a true master of death and garuda also known to have the knowledge of immortality.so garuda can also be seen as carriers of ancient secret ,the wisdom of how to be immortal and it could very well be the case of our rudra too.He may even embark on a journey to search the elixir to release his father.I still have doubt if his dad has truly eacaped capitivity.Could the guards have been really careless or are they seem so because they could learn anything from him by keeping him as a captive?
