Brilliant writing. The way you brought the sorrow of a son and the anguish of a warrior, both clinging to each other...awesome

Chapter-5
"Putra what are you thinking?" Arjun's voice brought Vrishketu in present.
"you didn't answer me?" Arjun was impatient to know his nephew's answer.
"Kakashree did you forget pitashree had disarmed Abhimanyu attacking from back?" asked Vrishketu. "will you ever be able to forgive him for that?"
"no putra." sighs Arjun. "None can even imagine what Abhimanyu meant for me. He was not just my son, he was my treasure, my key of happiness. I cant describe you what bond we had shared it was far deeper than any normal father-son relation. Abhimanyu lived for me and he died for me too." Arjun was for a while lost in his beautiful moonlike son's memory.
"Kakashree the same way I didn't forget about my family's death too. But Mamashree had taught me to see things in larger aspect. That's why I can realize now my loss was not ultimate." says Vrishketu.
Arjun grins. Without Madhav's intervene it was not possible that Karna's family would agree to give pandavas and specially Arjun a chance. Seeing his Parth broken Madhav couldn't hold himself and took the matter upon himself.
Vrishketu still remembers the day. It was a week later the pandavas came their home, the small house shined with the presence of a dark tall figure. His hypnotizing aura, his mesmerizing smile , his jet black eyes capable to read innermost thought of person in front him all were announcing his identity, since childhood Vrishketu is listening whose tales the person is none other than Vasudev Krishna. There were two women accompanied him. One was of his mother's age a moonlight like fair skinned lady with full of affection in eyes. Other one was a very young woman of almost Vrishketu's age. And she was a widow. She was cuddling a few weeks old child in her arms. From mother's words Vrishketu got to know the lady was Yadav princess Subhadra , Vasudev's sister and Arjun's wife and the girl was her daughter in law Virat princess Uttara, the child is Arjun's grandson prince Parikshit who will succeed king Yudhishthir as Aryavart's emperor.
Vrishketu found her mother or grandparent couldn't be rude to them as they were on previous day. Perhaps its because of Vasudev's aura or because they have nothing to say against Subhadra and Uttara so that day they all listened to them.
"Urubhi you always wanted me to have as your brother, cant I claim that right from you now my sister?" Krishna says affectionately
"why now Vasudev? After everything ended?" Urubhi's voice was chocked. "have you ever considered me as your sister you wouldn't have let such destruction happen to me."
"I had tried my sister. You know your husband had refused my proposal." Krishna says in a painful tone.
"you didn't want him to accept either. If you have you wouldn't approach on the last moment when you always knew the truth." complained Urubhi with teary eyes.
"that would have only increased his dilemma sister. I didn't want to put him in dharmsankat." sighs Krishna. "but sister destruction didn't happen to you only look at my sister Subhadra what wrong she had done to lose her sons? I couldn't stop her misery as well." Urubhi bents her head down she knows what Krishna said was true.
Krishna approached to pundra princess and her son. He picked up Vasusharma and kept hand on Suchna's head. "putri I can understand your pain, what had happened to Vrishasena is unforgettable and I am not asking you to forget either. But just look at princess Uttara. She is so young. She got only six months to spend with her husband. Your son at least got few years of father's love look at baby Parikshit he didn't have even seen his father. What was his fault?" Suchna kept silent. Uttara approached to her.
"didi just like you didn't forgive pitashree Arjun I didn't forgive Angraj Karn either for attacking my Aarya from back. but didi we need to move on, anger and hatred only make life complicated."
Krishna puts down Vasusharma and brings him near Parikshit.
"Who is this baby?" asks the child.
"your brother son." Krishna smiles you want to play with him? Karna's grandson nods and runs to Arjun's grandson.
Krishna approached to Adhirath and Radha. "Angraj himself said that he regretted what he had done and he chose to die to redeem himself. And now pandavas and my sakhi are bearing the punishment to live. They forgave Karn's mistake now they deserve a chance too. Parth is craving for a son only Vrishketu is able to heal his pain. Please allow Arjun to adopt him. He will guide and train him as own son." requests Krishna. And Adhirath and Radha were unsure to what to say first.
"Urubhi the day my Aarya met your son first time after the war I found solace in his face." says Subhadra. "trust me Aarya sees son in him." pleads Subhadra.
"alright" sighs Urubhi " I am ready to give Arjun and pandavs a chance but in one condition." says Urubhi. "Vrishketu won't be offered throne of Hastinapur that is Parikshit's right. I won't let my son be reason of anyone's deprives. Vrishketu can be king of my maternal kingdom Kanchan some day like Vasusharma will be king of pundra in future. But we want to stay away from Aryavart's politic."
"I agree." says Krishna.
"but I don't agree" shouts Vrishketu. "Mata I won't go to them." he runs out of home.
"son I want to take you somewhere and I promise its not royal palace. Will you please accompany me?" Krishna held his hand out for him and he had no power to deny. He nods and holds Vasudev's hand.
Krishna brought him to a hut where an old lady was trying to repair the holes in wall. Vrishketu runs to help her as Krishna asks him. While talking Vrishketu got to know the old lady had only a grandson who had taken part in war behalf pandavas as hereditary loyalty. And he died in war leaving her penniless and all alone.
"and who killed your grandson do you know?" asks Vrishketu as Krishna asks him to ask.
"his name was Vrishketu. son of Sutputra Karna." says the old woman to a horrified Vrishketu.
Krishna took him to twenty to twenty five houses more and everywhere Vrishketu got to know a new story of loss and all of them lost their near and dear ones in Vrishketu's hand.
"putra these people sees you exactly the way you see Parth. Warriors do kill son. Important is how you redeem your mistakes." says Krishna. "lets go son your mother will be waiting."
"Vasudev I want to help these people. Please tell me how I will be able to." begs Vrishketu
"pandavas are trying to rebuild Aryavart, come and join the noble task son." suggests Krishna.
Vrishketu determines himself. "take me to them Vasudev."
Gradually in these three years Vrishketu had become an inseparable part of Pandavas family and apple of Arjun's eye. It took time but he found his father in Arjun for which he was craving for.
"bhrata Vrishketu!! Niramitra and Suhatra were calling their brother. "where are you? We are getting late for fencing practice.
"go putra." Arjun pats Vrishketu's back and he leaves.
Arjun walks towards Ganges bank. He smiles over reaching there. A familiar figure was already leaning over the tree as if was waiting for him. He grins and takes his sit beside the figure.
"why my Parth is looking so sad today?" Madhav's arm wrapped around Parth's shoulder.
"you know why Madhav, still you are asking?" Parth leans his head on Madhav's shoulder.
"Parth after darkness of night comes the light of dawn. Did you forget that?" smiles Madhav stroking Parth's wavy traces.
"but in my destiny it seems only darkness is left now." Parth sighs.
"Parth remember the Sun always rises in the East." Madhav's tone sounds mystic but Parth didn't get the meaning.
"I don't think the Sun god has any good reason to rise for me." remarks Parth.
Madhav looks down to Parth's solemn face. He leans forward and presses his lips on Parth's forehead. Madhav's kiss brings somewhat peace to Parth's heart. He buries his head on Madhav's shoulder.
"The Sun will still rise in The East Parth" whispers Madhav in his ears.

Oh my God. Such a nice way to convince Vrishketu.

But a question, as far as I know Uruvi is just a fictitious character. How did you make her the mother of Vrishketu?
