I was asked a question as to who was Agnivesa so I've putforth some information and its source, from where I've collected.

Agnivesa was a great rishi, who is mentioned as a guru to Dronacharya and Yajnasena/Drupad Mbh(1-131, 133, 141)
He was the son of Ghora angirasa ; Ghora was one of the gurus of Krishna (Devakiputra) as mentioned in Chandogya Upanishad and GA is a revered figure in Jaina traditions

Ghora Angirasa is also a very interesting personality and an unconventional guru, in his teachings ,he compares life of a human to a great sacrifice/ Yajna

The Angirasa family is credited to have discovered the sacred fire, thus they are 'fire born' and Agnivesa is said to become "Agni" of next Manvantara. Agnivesa family is also famous for its invention of the Agneya weapon, this weapon could be hurled by the wielder without a bow. Arjuna gets Agneya astra from his preceptor Drona, who, in turn gets it from Agnivesa . Arjuna in his duel with Angaraparna gandharva hurls Agneya on Angaraparna and burns the latter's chariot without using a bow and also teaches Angaraparna, the use of Agneya astra.

Dronacharya also passes on the Brahmasira to Arjuna , which he had got from Agnivesa.
In Dakshinatya Mbh Agnivesa is guru to both Bhima and Arjuna after both complete their studies under Dronacharya. Both brothers are rewarded with 'Bhargavastra' by Agnivesa

Agnivesa had several gurus:
Agastya for science in arms/ archery
Punarvasu Atreya for Ayurveda
Bharadwaja for archery and Vedas

Agnivesa is mentioned in Ramayana as a custodian of weapons

S.C Sircar is his compilation of Encyclopedia Indica mentions that when Rama, was exiled ,he along with Lakshmana visit Agnivesa and get their respective bows from him which were in his Ashrama,

after obtaining the bows and arrows and having paid obeisance, R-L along with Sita proceed to forest.
Agnivesa also has written Ramayana and is titled as 'Ramayan Saar' and is written in 'Sardula metre' / three stanza description.

Agnivesa and JaTukarna in Ayurveda:
What we get to read in Charaka Samhita , the greatest treatise on Ayurveda, was first propounded by Agnivesa based on knowledge he got from his guru Punarvasu ; it is said that Agnivesa's original work called as 'Agnivesa tantra' was lost and its remnants are present in Charaka Samhita .

Roshen Dalal's compilation of encyclopedic dictionary feels that Agnivesa was also known as 'JaTukarna' and that he was a Kanina son of Ghora Angirasa

JaTukarna's mother abandons him because of a curse , the reason for which is not told.
JaTukarna was one of the guest priest at Rajsuya of Yudhishthira, mentioned in sabha parva

The contradiction we find with respect to Agnivesa and JaTukarna is in Charaka Samhita where both are mentioned as different individuals and are disciples of Punarvasu Atreya ;Note how even Mbh names them differently : Agnivesa as guru to Dronacharya and JaTukarna as priest in rajsuya.

So we can conclude Agnivesa and JaTukarna as different individuals but belonging to same family

You're welcome!
Soumya, Mbh doesn't mention Ghora Angirasa as a guru to Krishna ; The epic main we get to know of Krishna only in Draupadi Swayamvar . Krishna's story is narrated in detail in Harivamsa which is added as an appendix and in that rishi Garga and Sandeepani are mentioned as gurus to Krishna
Rishi Garga is also an Angirasa descendent so scholars say they might be the same person
Chandogya Upanishad 3-17 [1]
Ghora angirasa is instructing ( upadesha, tantra) Krishna (Devakiputra) about life of a human as a sacrifice which later forms as one of the essence of Bhagavad gita .
CU also mentions Ghora was nearing his end and was without any craving for food or water, before he breathed his last he says to Krishna " Take refuge in three things: You are undecaying (Akshaya)
You are imperishable (Achyuta)
You are life breath sharpened (Paranasanshita)
A hint Krishna is Vishnu , these names appear in Vishnusahasranam
CU also mentions about the guru-shisya parampara between Krishna and angirasa and the unconventional methods followed
You must have read AC series ? Govinda , the book begins saying, Ghora angirasa was murdered! The suspense element added to keep the narration interesting 😊
Nothing like that mentioned at least in CU
You're right, Angirasa/Agnivesa family is very important in Mb and their association with Chandra vansh is from the very beginning of existence of the dynasty

The narration in Govinda (the book) begins with an intrigue that Ghora ,the former secret keeper of fire wrights was murdered, isn't it?
Govinda then reveals what had happened ...pg 34 onwards ...now I need to read AC 1 again 😛
