I was asked a question as to who was Agnivesa so I've putforth some information and its source, from where I've collected.
Agnivesa was a great rishi, who is mentioned as a guru to Dronacharya and Yajnasena/Drupad Mbh(1-131, 133, 141)
He was the son of Ghora angirasa ; Ghora was one of the gurus of Krishna (Devakiputra) as mentioned in Chandogya Upanishad and GA is a revered figure in Jaina traditions
Ghora Angirasa is also a very interesting personality and an unconventional guru, in his teachings ,he compares life of a human to a great sacrifice/ Yajna
The Angirasa family is credited to have discovered the sacred fire, thus they are 'fire born' and Agnivesa is said to become "Agni" of next Manvantara. Agnivesa family is also famous for its invention of the Agneya weapon, this weapon could be hurled by the wielder without a bow. Arjuna gets Agneya astra from his preceptor Drona, who, in turn gets it from Agnivesa . Arjuna in his duel with Angaraparna gandharva hurls Agneya on Angaraparna and burns the latter's chariot without using a bow and also teaches Angaraparna, the use of Agneya astra.
Agnivesa had several gurus:
Agastya for science in arms/ archery
Punarvasu Atreya for Ayurveda
Bharadwaja for archery and Vedas
Agnivesa is mentioned in Ramayana as a custodian of weapons
S.C Sircar is his compilation of Encyclopedia Indica mentions that when Rama, was exiled ,he along with Lakshmana visit Agnivesa and get their respective bows from him which were in his Ashrama,
after obtaining the bows and arrows and having paid obeisance, R-L along with Sita proceed to forest.
Agnivesa also has written Ramayana and is titled as 'Ramayan Saar' and is written in 'Sardula metre' / three stanza description.
Roshen Dalal's compilation of encyclopedic dictionary feels that Agnivesa was also known as 'JaTukarna' and that he was a Kanina son of Ghora Angirasa
JaTukarna's mother abandons him because of a curse , the reason for which is not told.
JaTukarna was one of the guest priest at Rajsuya of Yudhishthira, mentioned in sabha parva
The contradiction we find with respect to Agnivesa and JaTukarna is in Charaka Samhita where both are mentioned as different individuals and are disciples of Punarvasu Atreya ;Note how even Mbh names them differently : Agnivesa as guru to Dronacharya and JaTukarna as priest in rajsuya.
So we can conclude Agnivesa and JaTukarna as different individuals but belonging to same family
