Actually, this death proved who was the most unfortunate people in the epic.. It was definitely the two groups of cousins. Cousins have some of the best bonding in family.. They are so close to each other.. Brothers.. The Pandavs nd Kauravs cud also have been the same..the best of brothers.. But... This really brings tears to my eyes.

@bold everybody who got involved in the war was unfortunate. I bowed Panchali when she asked Bheem not to drink the blood "Arya..woh apke bhi bhai hai.." 😭😭

And Of Bheem, today my aunt said the same thing!
But Here I have to disagree with you!
IMO all her husbands have lost the right to actually claim they took revenge for her humiliation coz they themselves were the reason of what happened then! I believe its a mix of anger towards kauravas and guilt for not standing up for Panchaali when she needed them the most what lead them to their taking revenge!
And of killing Dushy, it's only Bheem who could Kill all of 100 sons of Dhritharashtra like that, only his physical strength could match up to kill them so brutally! Arrow of Arjun, Spear of Yudi, Sword of Nakul or the weapon of Sahadev could't have bought such a death!
This is just my opinion! 😳 I didn't want to hurt your POV! Just said mine! 😊

It was Bheem's challenge only..the other brothers helped him being brothers but they were great warriors too..all being son of Gods but in the war they were just being shown as helpers of Arjuna n Bheem.I respect ur POV but u have to agree at the point that Bheem didn't marry or love anyone other than Panchali..he was never so romantic like Arjuna n that's why may be..only his strength was exaggerated like that. But I believe everyone has their own way to express love n it was Bheem's way!👏

yes bheem loved drau most ..he had to accept hirimba as kunti ordered bt apart 4m her bheem didnt marry any1 else..bt d other bros had many more wives.
arjun married so many times that really proves he ws just like pandu..like father like son ..pandu too married madri 4 her beauty n didnt consider that it cd hurt kunti..same with arjun..
bt i dnt blame arjun..i feel he was a shrewd soldier who had gr8 vision..those days marriages brot along
alliances..so he gained frndly kingdoms by marrying into thr families..quite a politically correct decision.
n lastly i wd just say thr wd of course b sinful flesh traders wanting to buy a woman n njoy her 4 thr lust
bt who is a gr8er sinner d buyer or d seller who is a husband?yes duri dushi disgraced drau bt who put her up in d market as pawn/bet/selling item?swayam bichar ki jiye 😉

See, I know in this point Yudi is the sinner. He was even scolded for doing so. whatever however the situation is he shouldn't use his brothers n wife as pawn! I agree..perhaps he was not in the state of making decision properly. Too dumb to decide anything. It shows the effect of gamble.he had lack of foresee.🤢

Draupadi's Vastraharan was far more brutal than it was shown in the serial, in my opinion.
In the serial, she was only dragged with cruelty...
Whereas, in the epic, she was dragged like that, in a single piece of cloth, wrapped around her body...
She was not even properly dressed...she was in her season...her dress was stained in blood from her season. In that condition, with clothes almost slipping away, she was dragged by her hair, to a court full of men.
Even today, we women, tend to be careful about our clothings, in our season.
Just imagine, what it was like for Draupadi, at that age, to be dragged in front of in-laws, outsiders, servants, etc, half-dressed, and stained in blood...
So, no I feel no sympathy for Dushasen or Duryodhan.
But there is one thing, that I would like to say.
Throne, power, greed, ego, etc ruin everything.
The Pandavas and the Kauravas could have been friendly, but all got ruined bcoz of this LAND and THRONE.
Power destroys people, and make them do horrible things.
And JustMySelf, yes Bhima loved Draupadi a lot. But he did marry another woman named Valandhara. 😭
And Pandu was married off to Madri, by Bhishma.
The marriage was arranged by Bhishm.
Reason was Kunti's inability to conceive, although it was Pandu, who was impotent.
I hope, I am factually right.

@bold yeh I know that..it was the worse part of the epic..so brutal. I can feel being a woman..😭 in any war/gamble/bet/conflict women r the poorest victims.😡
@green I also didn't know that he was married to anyone except Hidimba n dru!😲 who's that Valandhara?😲
@red it was a in-born conflict among them..their father was deceived. If Pandu haven't taken sanyas then it'd a justice. Pandu's leaving hastinapur gave Dhri n his sons the chance n they dared to treat the pandavas like shit.🤢🤢

JustMySelf,

Yes, this story is there in Mahaprasthan parva of the epic.
And I think, the last part is in the Swargrohan Parva, or maybe the whole thing is in the Mahaprasthan Parva.
However, it's not true that Yudisthir granted them all path to heaven. And Duryodhan was not boiling in oil. 😆 Infact, he was enjoying himself in heaven, as he had died in the Kurukshetra battlefield. There was probably some sacredness about the Kurukshetra battlefield, for which, people who died there, directly reached heaven. There's a confusion regarding this.
Krishna has narrated this before the beginning of war. it was becoz parasuram had killed the sinners in that field of Kurukshetra making it sacred..
As for the Pandavas, actually, from what I have understood, that whole hell journey was an illusion.
It was a test for Yudisthir, which he passed with flying colours.
The moment Yudisthir says, that he would rather live his brothers and wife in hell, than with his enemies in heaven, he passes the test.
Hearing this, Dharmraj becomes happy. Then the hell disappears, and Yudisthir is told that it was a test.
And then, finally he is taken to heaven, where his brothers and wife had already reached.
And when Yudithir reaches heaven he sees Draupadi sitting in a goddess like posture.
Then he is told, that it's Ma Shree, who had taken birth as Draupadi.
I have read this part in other books as well. So, there might be some error in what I have written.
However, u can check it yourself, in KMG's translation, which is found online for free. 😊

u said absolutely right..I actually not sure abt Duryadhan's part but I know it was a test from Dharmaraj for his son Yudi n the Pandavas never went to hell..😛

And coming to bhima's love for draupadi,I agree wid u 👍🏼 he really loved her n today his love almost turned into an obsession!he could do anything to avenge her insult.i think it was d biggest mistake of bhima's life To not protect draupadi on that fateful day,but ignoring this fact I think bhima was the best husband a woman could ever get!

he couldnt do this being a slave himself..that helplessness only made him more cruel n avenging.. 👍🏼 he never saw his romantic or lover side but expressed his love n care for his wife this way.😳

Howver, this theory is a bit far-fetched.
Yudisthir was the last person who wanted war.
In fact, that is y, he needed so much of brain-washing and tongue-lashing from Draupadi. He was even ready to forget Draupadi's insult, in return of their share of the land.
He was more satisfied in exile, I guess.

plz dont mistake him..he wanted to avoid bloodshed..he was extremely peace-lover n so much human. it wasn't fare to use ur wife as pawn n it was the ONLY mistake he made n also suffered a lot for it! I'm not aware abt the theory of who was pawned first..so can't say much.

Actually not everyone attained heaven, as we know - The characters in Mahabharata were not normal people, they were demi-gods.

Karna entered SuryaNarayan himself, Abhimanyu entered Lord Soma ( He was an incarnation of Lord Soma's son viz., Varchas. ), Drona entered Brihaspati, Bhishma retained the status of the eight Vasu, Dhritashtra entered 'The Lord of Treasures ( I guess Kubera ), Gandhari entered the same as his husband, Pandu and his two wives entered Indra's abode, Yudisthira entered entered Dharmaraja, The sons of Dhritashtra entered the heaven.

Krishna entered Vishnu and I guess Arjuna stayed on Earth since he was an Avatara of Man ( Nara ).

According to the mahaprasthan parva all of them went to swag ..some coz of their deeds and some coz they were killed in sacred battlefield of Kurukshetra..
