Krishna would often say, "If we look for specific identities in men and women, men thrive on ego and women on envy. In reality, envy is a passive emotion of ego and ego is an active emotion of envy." Rukmini comprehended why Draupadi was able to survive in love without envy and was therefore in many ways superior to her five husbands. The brothers had been through troubled waters and all of them deep down nursed internal conflicts with regards to her. But rather than aggravate or provoke them, Draupadi retained a rare balance with her wisdom and composure. And it was because she was so committed that they were able to survive so many crises. Interestingly, the one she desired, worshipped and loved the most also remained the only unblemished, unquestioned relationship of her life. It was the other way round for Rukmini. Whenever Rukmini turned competitive vis--vis Satyabhama or any of Krishna's other queens and expressed outrage, he would pacify her and say, "Most of what troubles us is self-created. We perceive love as one-on-one relationship but love is more intriguing than that and subsequently we create further problems for ourselves. Love is a flower that can blossom for anyone at any time unannounced. It has no trappings and it comes without pressures. The more the trappings and the pressures, the brighter is the possibility of our preventing the blooming of the flower... We are so cautious about it that we refrain from the experience and in time to come get accustomed to a life without love. Ironically, we are willing to accept a life without love but unwilling to accept that someone we love can also love someone else..." ...Today, Rukmini for the first time understood the enormity of the message... Draupadi's love for her husband was full of surrender, eternal and non-controversial! That's why their love remained unbroken forever... Years ago, when Rukmini had addressed Draupadi as Vasudevasya sakhi' and welcomed her into the palace, she hadn't in her wildest imagination dreamt that this friend could be so close to her husband's heart...

BTW, I've just started reading the Aryvarta Chronicles- finished first book. In AC, the author has really been kind to Dury- rather Suyodhan. Have you read both the books? What do you think about this series and the characters?

Yes Suyodhan is more heroic than pandavas in that book.Panchali and Suyodhan have a kind of mutual respect for each other

In Dyut sabha scenes he even feels bad for panchali and even wants to protect her 😆

In any case i treat it as a completely new story so its fine but ya when i compare it to the epic things seem weird
