Do you think Duryodhan would have given up the throne for Karn considering he was Kunti's eldest son ?

I don't think so.
Karna and Duryodhan's friendship was not even from both sides. The friendship was deeper from Karna's side.
All Duryodhan ever wanted was throne. For that, he plotted to burn his cousins, including their mother, alive, plotted the whole dice game, enjoyed the molestation of his sister-in-law...
He hated the Pandavas...and anyone related to them.
If Duryodhan had come to know of Karna's true lineage, then instead of Yudisthir, Karna would have become his rival for the throne.
And Karna would have given him the throne happily, which Duryodhan would have accepted even more happily.
This is my opinion.

haha that surely would be a heart attack for Dury, meh..sometimes i do feel, Dury did have some mercy..but mamashree would play his tricks..
It would be a whole new story if it was Karna vs Dury.
i like to consider Karna a tragic hero, which he would not have been if he got / demanded for his rightful birth authorities..

I agree, Karna loved Duryodhan more than Duryodhan loved Karna. Duryodhan may have valued Karna's friendship, I'm not saying he didn't, but his hatred for the Pandavas and his desire for the throne exceeded any friendship or love in his life. He did not even respect his own father more than the throne, why would he love Karna if he got to know his true lineage? Duryodhan's obsession for the throne was so strong that it caused a war that killed thousands of people. Such a strong obsession would not have receded for a friend whom he only respected as long as he was useful.

Why did Duryodhan even make friends with Karna in the first place? Because he saw potential in the later to defeat Arjuna whom he could not defeat on his own. Duryodhan was selfish, he may have been a good friend to Karna, but he loved the throne better!!
