The episode starts with Kunti meeting Bheeshma and telling him her secret. She asks him to help her as the thought of Karna and Arjun killing each other is unbearable. Bheeshma says protecting Karna is not his responsibility and Arjun does not need protection. Kunti says but he is also your great grand son . Bheeshma says the kids you got with your husbands permission are my great grand sons. But the one you got before marriage is not a kuruvanshi. Still he says I understand your pain and will try my best

In Duryodhan's shivir they are discussing battlefield placement. Duryodhan says I and my brother will stand in the centre. We will be well protected. Karna cones there and says your protection is my responsibility . Shakuni insults him saying you gave away your karvach. Now how will you protect us??? Karna says don't you trust my capabilities. Shakuni says we will have to but I a, afraid Arjun's first arrow may kill you
Bheeshma enters and says that no arrow of Arjun will reach Karna as Karna will not fight till I am commander. Duryodhan argues with him and says he will and that's my final decision. Shakuni tries to intervene but he does not listen. Bheeshma says if Karna will fight then I will not. Duryodhan says then you take retirement and leaves
Karna comes to meet Duryodhan and says agree to what bheeshma says. Duryodhan says bheeshma will never kill pandavs and nether will drona at most they will capture them. But I am not fighting this war for their capture. I want them dead. And you are the only one who can kill them
Karna takes Duryodhan outside and tells him all the armies that have cone here to fight for him have in fact come here because of bheeshma. If he is not commander then all of them will not fight. And after his death you have to make drona commander and only then can I become commander
Duryodhan says but Bheeshma has ichamrityu. How will he die. Karna says even if he doesn't he protect you and you will also live. And if he captures pandavs you can always give them death sentence later
