@red for me this is what Kunti should have done..if she was aware of Karna's rights over the throne at that time..But i cant understand one thing ,all those things defending her ,for what she did before the marriage, Why do you think that its not applicable after the marriage?Didn't she has to save the pride of her Husband and her 5 sons other than Karna??Their birth also would have been a question mark..
Then Archu why she confronted him later..The way she told him in private. She cud have done same with him earlier and even pandavas.

This has been the biggest logical beef of mine @ Kunti. She had unlimited private time w/ all her sons. The day after the tournament, she could have taken them aside and told them about Karna, and busted Duryodhan's bubble by telling him that Karna was her son, so if he gave Anga to Karna, the Pandavas and she too would have the right to move in under his protection. That alone would have made Duryodhan withdraw the offer.
Or even after that - she could have told her sons after the house of lac who Karna was, since all of them were in private, and b/w Yudisthir, Bhima & Sahadev, they could have charted out the best course of action. Or even after they became rulers of Indraprastha, she could have told them about Karna and tried reconciling w/ him. At that time, the hatred wasn't too deep, and such a move on her part would have been a win-win for both the 5 Pandavas and Karna.
However, after the game of dice, it was irreversible, given that Karna now had a sin that had to be paid for.

It's simple- she was still insecure. Having a child before marriage and then abandoning him is a big thing. The Pandavas respected her immensely not just because she was their mother but also because she had raised them as a single mother. Revealing about Karna's birth would have made them loose their respect for her
