Krishna describes draupadi to arjuna
Arjuna was still unconvinced,"i'm not discussing truth or counterfeit,this is not about courtsey or unpleasantness.my arguement is about duty,about justice...panchali accused and cursed dushasan but we were equal participants in the crime.she held duryodhan and dushasan guilty,so how come we were forgiven and they penalised...?In the present scale of justice ,there is no diffence between dhritrashtra and panchali.Dhritrashtra discriminated between his children and the pandavas,so did panchali...so what out of this is justice krishna and what is duty?
"You are wrong,parth.if dhritrashtra loved duryodhan , panchali loves all of you and love makes concessions.it's natural to exercise a blind spot for people you love.panchali knows that if we have to identify a single individual,event or idea responsible for the entire episode,it's me...!she believes that i could have prevented her humiliation at any point but i didn't..."krishna sighed deeply.
There was a long silence...a soothing quietude prevailed between the two...
Then krishna put his hand on arjuna's shoulder...
"Parth,women are made different from men.their sense of righteousness,their duty...their psyche is contrasting from us .they think from the heart whilemen think from head...women have a greater capacity to love than men...for them love is surrender,worship,a part of their existence.for men love is more or less a physical need.for women love is exaltation,it's a sublime experience,for men it's a momentary passion...women are by nature monogamous while men are polygamous and capable of loving more than one.women are ingrained to forgive heinous deeds of their men but men are revengeful and driven to fight for justice."
"Then how come panchali is so different?why is she not like the other women?she could have forgiven duryodhan,why didn't she?by doing to him what he did to us ,how did we become noble?"
Krishna looked at arjuna tenderly,and then as if explaining to a younger student,said,"because draupadi thinks like a man...she is like other women perhaps...let's not forget she has emerged from the flames and it's unfair of us to expect such tenderness from her...she was created for a specific purpose..,to fulfil that revenge is her prime duty.to regard her as an ordinary women or to associate with her such fragile feelings is a folly on our part..."
"But going by what our scriptures lay down about the rights and duties of women..."
Krishna stopped him mid-sentence,"I'm informing you that women are superior to men...They are closer to nature and therefore to themselves...for women everything is associated with them is extremely sensitive.draupadi falls in between these two categories.she is as embellished as powerful and as purified as fiery she is!"
Arjuna heard out krishna in rapt attention.krishna was perfect in his assessment of draupadi.
