I just finished watching today's episode, having skipped everything after the one about Dury's bros that involved Abhi vadh. Not that it'll help - they'll keep showing it in flashback, just like Ekalavya's thumb 🤢
I noted in the EDT how Kunti was w/ her party for a change, instead of w/ Gandhari, as all other serials show (there is nothing about Kunti during the war in the original epic) One thing that struck me is the treatment of Abhi's body.
As people know, all the funerals happened after the war, and were done by the Pandavas and the survivors, like Yuyutsu. There were no daily funerals, as serials tend to show. Yeah, it was ugly - scavenging animals preying on the cadavers. But that's how it was, that's how war was, but no serial shows it like that, it's all astra fireworks, flying heads and the like, but none of the Stri Parva descriptions by Gandhari ever get shown. But I digress.
Point here is that on night 1, they showed the full funeral of Uttar, who had been slain by Shalya. Today, Abhi's body is just left, w/ his widow, 2 moms & pitamahi all in attendance. Now, this is contradictory. Either show nothing about funerals, or show every funeral individually.
In this case, what's the point of leaving Abhi's body uncremated for a day, so that either Arjun or Jayadrath can join him? Does Arjun really want to defile Abhi's body by having Jayadrath's pyre alongside it? Why not just cremate him and be done w/? One thing I hope - that the Kauravas don't try to attend Abhi's funeral, and the Pandavas don't try to attend that of Jayadrath or Drona.
Also, the fight b/w Arjun & the Kauravas was too filmy, aside from being OTT. And Arjun telling Drona that he was ashamed to call him Guru - IF ONLY!!! Unfortunately, the real Arjun respected Drona to the end - a lot of it undeserved.
