"Desperation" means Parth ko itna tension tha related to Drauapdi's swayamwar and wedding (amongst the Pandavas, he was THE most concerned about her "own" happiness when it came to the polyandrous shaadi), and he felt so guilty and pained during the wedding as well...so "desperation" to hug Madhav because of all that...
