Gandhari in the epic was no saint like how Starbharat kept showing her. She had many vices, one of them being her putra moh for Duryodhan. Everyone blames Dhritarastra for his blindness to his son, but Gandhari was equally at fault though not many know this.

I would say this portrayal or her in the precap is more consistent to her original character than the one they previously showed. Though I don't think she ever went out of her way to harm the Pandavas, I do know she was jealous of their success and popularity. She was jealous of Kunti too, who had been Queen of Hastinapur before her despite being younger.

i was amazed with precap but im happy panchali will revenge n all those who are part n parcel of such gaming n ditching will one day suffer,,,gandhari with shakuni doing smething with fireand asking to do something to make them poor n weak ,,,such bad whole family is really all andhas
