Draupadi was filled with hate and started the war for her personal motives?
Had the Chandal Choukdi not verbally humiliated her and strriped her naked in public, the war would not have happened?
Had they spared that woman, the war would not have happened?
Had she been left alone and Pandavas had returned from exile and demanded their kingdom only to get told that they can't have it back and they won't even get 5 bloody villages let alone a piece of land occupied by a needle, the war would not have happened?
The problem is not the woman's anger because she has all the right to be so when something so atrocious is done to her.
The bloody problem is Men's big fat ego's.
Duryodhana and Co. and their hunger ... hunger for revenge, hunger for Pandavas despair, hunger for more and more.
Greed and selfishness.
Always trying to declare their rights on thing which is not theirs. Always having their eyes set on other peoples possession and happiness.
Pandavas built their own kingdom. Duryodhana got to be the King of Hastinapur which he always wanted and for that he did everything, even trying to roast his cousins and Aunt alive.
But No! Once you have something, it is not enough! You cant be satisfied with it.
So he wanted more and when he got it, he wanted even more.
You cant clap with just one hand, can you?
If they had given the Pandavas those 5 bloody villages, there wouldn't have been a war.
But Men, especially men like the Chandal Chaukadi, they would always find a damn reason for war, women involved or not.
But I guess that it is a world where Victim Blaming is a phenomena that is taking over every part, every era.
Why would Draupadi be any different?
Draupadi was filled with Rage but only after filthy hands touched her body and abused her. Called her what not and justified why she desreved to be strriped naked.
Any self-respecting woman would demand that her tormentors be hanged.
Men start feuds and wars, involve women in between and then put all the blame on her.
After all, today Men and some women even claim that Sita had brought it upon herself.
The Arrogant Woman, who dared to "cross the line".
Sita was a wife and kept being so even after she was abducted, even after her husband made her give the proof of her purity, even after she was left. She was a goddess who brought destruction on the sinners.
Draupadi was a woman who was stripped off her title, honor, clothes and told Krishna that she did not have husbands, sons, brother or Father.
She raised her voice, questioned her elders and demanded for justice. She reminded her husbands of how they broke the marriage vows for their Dharma which made them so helpless that they had to sit and watch a woman getting stripped and abused.
She was no goddess, she was a woman like us and every woman today needs to be like her to survive in "this" world. We can worship Sita, a Goddess but we cant be like her because this world run by the male ego would eat us all up.
