I have always been confused about this.. it is written that incarnation of Krishna was to reduce burden of earth.. but he also went on a peace mission.. I doubt if it was an eye wash..

Sree may well have been a different goddess, not PSL

If the Kurukshetra War was really for bringing "justice" for Draupadi, then why did Krishna make one last-ditch peace effort by going to HP? As far as Draupadi is concerned, was Krishna really "oh-so-forgiving" towards the chandal chaukdi so as to go all the way to HP to "talk peace"?

I think it was to reduce the earth's burden. Krishna had already eliminated Kansa, Sishupala, Shalva, Dantavatra, Paundrak, Sudakshina & dad, Balarama ultimately eliminated Rukmi, Pradhyumna eliminated Shambara and Bhima Jarasandha. Only the Kauravas were left.

One thing I never got - Krishna wanted his own people the Yadavas to be destroyed as well. In which case, why didn't he bluntly ask his sons to join the Pandavas, like Satyaki did? Why let them stay neutral in that war? With Bheeshma, Drona, Ashwatthama, Kripa, Karna, Bhurishrava & Bhagadatta on the other side, a number of them, if not all, would have been eliminated.

Another thing. In the MB, as far as major warriors went, for the Pandava side, the bulk of the slaughter was done by Bhima & Arjun, while on the Kaurava side, it was done by Drona & Ashwatthama. Is there any reason why all the major warriors couldn't kill someone major or the other? Contrast this w/ the Ramayan, where every vanara got to kill a major rakshasha - Rama, Lakshman & Hanuman were certainly not doing the bulk of the killing.

One more question..

was Pandu's only problem was that he was pale? otherwise he was ok?
if so what was the need for Satyavati to send Vyasa to Ambika for the second time?
did Pandu kill the mating deers remembering his inability?

Pandu's paleness also caused him to be of frail health, so that although he did his share of conquests & everything, he was also prone to sickness very easily
Satyavati sent Ambika a second time since the latter's first son was useless. She'd have liked a son like Vidura, but from Ambika herself, rather than her maid
Pandu's shooting the deer was like Dasharath shooting Shravan - he shot the deer to test his own abilities. Sorta like Karna killing that cow. What inability were you referring to here?
