People believe that revealing Karna's secret
was a key to stopping the war.
It was not. This was not a crucial plot twist.
It was a sidelight.
Karna participation was never key to War.
Duryodhana was actually very comfortable
about going to war with or without Karna.
How do we know? Karna did not fight at all.
He took oath that he will not fight under
Bheeshma.
Duryodhana did not go war believing
Bheeshma will die. He went to WAR without
Karna because he did not think he needed
him. His belief in his victory was not based
on Karna participating. Bheeshma was
enough for him.
Duryodhana was the consummate politician
and totally self-absorbed in his self-interest.
He used Shakuni till Shakuni one day
changed his ideas completely. Shakuni
wanted peace. Shakuni was sidelined.
Duryodhana doesn't even involve him in
discussions and Virata War after this.
Duryodhana always uses and throws people
and friends as instruments. When Shakuni no
longer needed he uses Ulluka.
Duryodhana knew Indra will take away
Kavacha in advance and leave his friend
defenseless he does not warn Karna. Karna
was one shakti instrument for him, He offers
Salya supreme commander ship and gives it
when no one else was left alive competent
enough to lead.

If an onion plant is grown in camphor bed,
musk is used as a soil for it, or it is watered
with Ganga-jala (the holiest of the waters),
will it give up its characteristic pungent
odour? The central idea is that a person's
basic character remains the same, no matter
what efforts you take to change him.
In Udyoga, He used Karna extensively to
disrupt peace talks so peace will not happen.
Then when driven by abuses and counter-
abuses in Kuru court, Karna refuses to fight,
Duryodhana doesn't care. Karna for him is a
one shakti instrument. He needs Bheeshma
more than Karna. Like Shakuni earlier,
Duryodhana callously discards Karna as well.
They are just tools he can use.
That is why Krishna and Kunti intervene at
this point.
War will happen whether Karna fights on
Kaurava side or Pandava. They can atleast
see if they can save Karna.
Bheeshma does tell Karna and then in Santi
Parva told Yudhishthara that the words that
Karna spoke will always hurt more than any
arrows he had sent Pandava way. Krishna
does not go to Pandavas first because they
were not sure whether Yudhisthara would
have forgiven Karna. Well he would have
before asking Arjuna to kill him.
Adharma did happen. It was Karna who spoke
the fateful words that drove Dushasana.
Krishna had killed his uncles and brothers.
Yudhisthara in name of Dharma will kill his
grandfather, his uncles, his nephews, his
grand nephews, his father-in-law and his 100
brothers whether they be 100 or 101 does
not matter.
Krishna knew the softness in hearts of his
two projects. Dharma and Arjuna.
Would they have baulked from path to
dharma?
He still needed Geeta to convince them when
Arjuna faced just uncles nephews cousins
against Him. Would adding an elder brother
change anything? Could that be the tipping
point?
So Krishna does not tell them.
By the by, even if Karna was acknowledged
as a long lost son. He was still a soota and
would have still given his pind to Adhiratha.
That would not change any secular
succession stakes.
There may be a chance that Yudhishtahra
may baulk at accepting throne and then
Duryodhana would have won anyway.
Adharma would triumph if Yudhishthara gave
up. But Yudhishthara would never have
allowed that to pass.

Yudhishthara typifies the person for whom
courage is his father, forgiveness (KshmA) is
his mother, calmful mind is his wife, Truth is
his son, compassion his sister and control of
mind is his brother. And for whom this earth
is a bed, the directions (dishA) like the cloths
and the knowledge is his food. When all
these make up his family then for which
thing will that person be scared of?
Put Yudhishthara in any situation, he would
have come out trumps.
Yudhishthara would have gone for that War.
The War destroyed the oppressive ruling
class and spares the common people.

A big storm which uproots the strongest and
the biggest trees, doesn't harm the small
grass grown on the ground! (If a big storm
can uproot the huge tree then why can't it
uproot a small grass from the ground?!) Like
wise the strong people who have good
qualities will not trouble the poor who have
less might as compared to themselves.
But, Arjuna would be too softhearted to kill
Karna. How will Krishna liberate Karna?
So he does not tell them. He followed
Narada's advice.

Telling truth is recommended, but more than
that, tell those things which are in interest of
all. According to me (Narada) thing which is
beneficial to large community, is truth.
When we talk of Karna, Kunti and Krishna, we
don't talk about Duryodhana but the entire
relationship between Kunti, Karna and
Krishna is defined not by them but by
Duryodhana.

Notice that ke and shava have been
separated. The word "ka" means water
(among several other meanings). Hence ke
means "in water". Pandava also means fish
and kaurava also means crow. Hence the
interpretation is : Seeing the corpse (shava)
fallen in water, the fish were overjoyed. All
the crows, however, started crying O the
corpse in water !!" Pandavas see Keshava,
kauravas saw a dead body. What do you see?
