Hello guys!!!
this is juz a simple thought i had when i read about upapandavas!!
they are draupathi n pandavas sons...

the Upapandavas are the five sons born to Draupadi from each of the five Pandavas. They are Shrutavindhya, Sutasoma,
Srutakarma, Satanika, Sruthasena and .They fought the battle on the side of the Pandavas, but not much is said in the Mahabharata about the brothers except for fleeting mentions during the battle. However all five of them were killed by Ashwathama on the night of the last day of the war.

Prativindhya

Prativindhya or Shurtavindhya was born to Yudhisthira and Draupadi and was the eldest of the Upapandavas. Presumably, he was the crown prince. He was left in Ekchakra Nagari when he was a baby and later token-battled his uncle Arjuna during Yudhishthira's Rajasuya Yajna campaign.

Some folklore holds him as the Avatar of Chitraratha the Gandharva.

During the infamous game of dice, his mother Draupadi asked that he and his brothers be never referred to as the children of slaves; his bloodright was hence restored.

During the Kurukshetra war, he would be more than twenty-four years old (extrapolating from his age during the Rajasyua incident). Shrutavindhya killed Karna's son Chitrasena on the fifteenth day of the battle. In the Indonesian Mahabharata, there is reference to "the son of Yudhishthira and Draupadi" dying to save his father against Drona on 12th day of the battle.

Satanika

Satanika was born to Nakula and Draupadi. He was the second oldest of Upapandavas. He was named after a famous Rajarsi in the Kuru lineage who had that name and he was considered to be an avatar of Visvadevas. He being the oldest of the Upapandavas in the Kurukshetra War is also nominated as a deputy commander-in-chief of forces under Dhrishtadyumna, in charge of Vyuha planning. He killed the Kaurava king/ally Bhutakarma.

Sutasoma

Sutasoma (lit. manifestation of the mind, suta: manifestation; soma: min), the son of Bhima and Draupadi was the third of the Upapandavas. He played a major role in the battle by nearly killing Shakuni. He played a major role along with Yudhisthira and other Upapandavas in holding off Ashwatthama and Drona on the 15th day

He was favored by Arjuna, who gave him a bow, and horses for his chariot.

Srutakarma

Srutakarma was the son born to Arjuna and Draupadi, the youngest of the Upapandavas, he was born definitely after the Arjuna's return from adventures and would be very young at time of battle. His horses were supposed to bear the colour of kingfishers. He fought against Dushasana and Ashwatthama in the battle.

Srutasana

Srutasanawas born to Sahadeva and Draupadi. He was defeated by Shakuni during the battle, but not killed. He was also called Srutasena. He kills Dushsana's son, taking revenge for Abhimanyu and also killing Shala, the younger brother of Bhurishravas.

(source Wikipedia)

Now the question is since these were all born before the game of dice, n three of them where old enough to understand what went down there,

how they would've reacted to their mother's disgrace n insult????

remember they have very much likeness n similarity to their fathers in nature!!!!

also its the question of their mother's respect n pride!!!

pls write ur views abt how they would've reacted!!!!

Well I think they must have had kind of the same opinion like their fathers. But on the other hand.. They must have had anger and rage as like their fathers, they also considered their mother as their goddess? So..they surely must have had negative reaction. It's obvious. But what was their state of mind is a difficult question..and a different one..

He kills Dushsana's son, taking revenge for Abhimanyu and also killing Shala, the younger brother of Bhurishravas.
This, i knew. thanks for reminding though.
As for the story about Yudhishtiras Son ... of his battle with Arjuna, that is not a part of Vedvyas MB, is that?
If it is, please do post the citation, i would love to read Arjuna being defeated by his Son. Draupadis all sons were also the sons of all the Pandavas, no. They were all fathers.
If it is a folklore, post it anyways.

Abhimanyu was older than how many of them, though?

In the Indo MB, Draupadi married only Yudhishtira, not the others.

So, the other four children dont exist? Or do they have other mothers?

That is almost 14 years before the War, the disrobing, they were probably teenagers then. Were they even allowed to sit in courts?
[the pandavas lived with Subhadra in Dwarka right?]

I hope not.
I am almost blenching at the thought of children seeing their mother being verbally abused, insulted and disrobed publically.
That kind of stuff would affect the children in ways only someone who has experienced the same thing can understand. It F**ks with your mind, psychologically speaking.

I went thru the original wiki article - they source all sorts of current literature and use that to assert their 'facts'.

The birth order of the Upapandavas was their fathers only - Prativindya, Satsoma, Shrutakirti/Shrutakarman, Satanika, Srutasena.

Karna's son Chitrasena was killed by Nakul on day 18 - read my thread 'Karna's battles'.

I've always wanted to know who exactly killed Abhimanyu's killer, Dushashan's son. It says Srutasena below, but anyone has the reference, and which day? I thought it might have been Satsoma who killed him.

Also, would they have had the same expertise in weapons as their fathers - Prativindya in javelin, Satsoma in mace, Shrutakarman in archery, et al?

One last question - why are only Draupadi's sons called Upapandavas? Other sons of the Pandavas, like Ghatotkacha, Yaudeha, Abhimanyu, Nirmitra, et al too ought to have been called that: unlike the sons of Vichu, there wasn't any divisions among the sons of Pandu. So there is a good reason for not calling the Pandavas Kauravas, but there isn't one for not calling Draupadi's step-sons Upapandavas.

Very interesting that in Indonesian version Draupadi married only Yudishthir.. That would make more sense for Yudhishthir saying Draupadi fell first in their last journey due to her love for Arjun!
She was still a pious woman, as she never did anything against dharma, and we can't really blame her for fell in love with the man who won her in swayamvara..
And this wouldn't affect the story too much also (1 or 5 sons, they had very minor role anyway)

the birth order is not like that...
prathvindya, satanika, sutsoma, sruthusena n last suthukarman
n they are callled upapandavas coz they were all born to the queen draupathi...
also prathuvindya was the crown prince...
n yes they do show expertise as their fathers in all ways!!!
they were similar in looks n physique too..
ths y aswathama mistook them for pandavas n killed them while sleeping

the question is not abt who born n y...
its abt how they all felt or reacted to their mother's disgrace !!!!!
