But they all had beard even in the palace.. Except for bheem, bheem promised will kill anyone mention he doesn't have beard..
And lacking of facial hair is like a male lion without mane at that time.. That's why when Karna fought Bheem he insulted Bheem as 'beardless fool'..
But this mahabharat is boyband age mahabharat.. Clean shaved means good guys - beard means bad guys.

I actually dislike the beard look on the Pandavas, but like it on Duryodhan. But it would be necessary for them to have beards @ Draupadi's swayamvara, or else, they'd be easily recognized.

One thing I like about this serial - it resisted the temptation to show everybody in the Kuru earlier generation as bearded. As a result, Prishatha, Kuntibhoj, Surasena, Pandu, and now Drupada are all beardless. Shakuni OTOH had a beard from the get-go.
