So dhritrashta, probably didnt know the exact plans but had the basic idea that whatever his son was planning for the pandavas wasnt too nice.
Yes.Even i have noticed that people are crying foul over karna being included in the plans and reluctantly going along with it.
Here, he is not shown as protesting, contrary to it he has come with mama and bhanja co.Pvt.Ltd. To discuss further plans with daddy dhrit.Hmm.

ya i completley agree.he would have wanted to send the pandavas to vanvarat for the reasons you stated but i really dont think he would have been aware of the murder plot.Like i said he was blind in his son's love which made him weak but he wasnt evil enough to murder the pandavas.

@Sabhayata somethings are just left open for readers to interpret and assume on their own, bcoz the text does not clearly states abt it, we have to assume what might have happened, so yes there is ample scope for either possibilities -
1) that Dhrit was not aware of the murder plot, and he only consented to send them away (like he sends them later on13 yr exile also). Bcoz he was weak-hearted, he wouldn't have agreed to murdering pandavas, this is evident as he always feared war and tried 2 avoid direct conflicts with pandavas. and obviously bcoz he loved his son. so Dury didn't share the murder plot with him, fearing that he might not agree.
OR
2) Dury didn't share the murder plot to him but Dhrit sensed it (afterall he's Dury's dad !) , but he deliberately remained silent and blind ! and acted innocent all the time.
Many things are not clearly written - like if Karn agreed to Dury's plan or not, or when Dury was sharing his plans with Purochan though its written dat he called him in private, but most people assume that Karn and Shakuni were also present . So its all up to our assumptions, we can only 'try' to read between the lines. But can never know if its true or not.

So Dhritarashtra was hoping that while the Pandavas were away, Duryodhan got to become popular, so that when they returned, he could actually win an election against Yudisthir?

Any bridges in Hastinapur that one could have sold him?

As far as what I have read in Mahabharata , Dhritrastra was aware of Duryodhan's plan . He was ashamed of himself when he thought pandavas died . His love for his son is so strong that he never stops His son .

Plan was made by shakuni & duryodhan but dhrit knew so he is also responsible .

Dhritarastra is definitely responsible, because as the King and father of Duryodhana, he had ultimate power to stop the Lakshagriha incident from happening. In fact, he had the power to stop Duryodhana from doing just about all the wrong deeds he did, but he never stopped him. In fact, he encouraged him.

And people say that dhrit was wronged by not being made a king when it is quite clear that he didnt have it in him to be a good ruler. He was too busy being a daddy
