As Brihannala during their 13th year of agyatvas, Arjun never wore a wig. The curse gave him that look for that entire year.

Urvashi was attracted to Arjuna but he refused the hot apsara ... a scorned woman is a dangerous woman so she cursed him to be impotent for the rest of his life.But Indra loved his son too much so he talked to Urvashi and got the curse reduced to one year.

So in the exile after the dice game, in the last year(13th year) in which they had to be "agyaat", it worked for Arjuna .. and he stayed as Brihnalla for a year ..
