Just like Shaheer seems ill suited for Arjun's role, Arpit seems ill suited for Duryodhan's. Duryodhan ought to be a revulsive character, but there is nothing revulsive about Arpit - he makes Duryodhan more sexy, which shouldn't be the objective. By contrast, Nirbhay does a great job playing Dushashan - one is instantly repelled, b4 he's even said a word.
A good example of some great character portrayal would be Raj Shah, who played the kid Dushashan. The kid himself looks cute, but when he spoke, he had such a rudeness about him that was repulsive that he instantly brought out Dushashan's character. That's what Arpit needs to do - bring out the evil nature of Duryodhan to the fore, so that he repels the viewers. But that's not what he's been doing up to now.
If the Vidura in BRC was too outspoken, this one is at the other end - not just subdued, but almost cowed into submission. His only strong performance came when he spoke up for Pandu to become king, but since then, he's gone silent.
Some notable observations - Shakuni's role has accumulated too much masala, maybe from BRC, and everybody who plays his role seems to overact. The CVs could really tone down Shakuni's role - he wasn't the larger than life figure that BRC made him out to be.
