I don't want to get into a fight over a Karna fan vs Arjun. Like I have said before..this character is the "tragedy" on the Kaurava's side just as Abhimanyu is on the Pandavas.
Karna had ambitions that had obstructions because his caste put chains on what he wanted to become as well as his blind devotion towards Duryodhan.
But unfortunately his ultimate goal of mastering the Brahmastra weapon was just not in favor as he got cursed by Parshuram. And he just didn't get the recognition of a good warrior during that time.He attained recognition only after death when Kunti herself proclaimed him as her own.
He respected his mother Kunti and definitely had a soft corner for the Pandavas. And I think its important to know at the time he called "Draupadi" what she was he did not know that the Pandavas were his own brothers. He was still enraged from being insulted from the Swayambar. He at least recognized his mistake where Duryodhan never ever was sorry for anything when Lord Krishna revealed this.
But again like someone said befriending Karna was basically the only good thing Duryodhan ever did.
I actually haul everything at Shakuni he is the main pillar that caused all of this! His own enmity over Bhishma for taking his sister for Dritarashta and Gandhari becoming blind to support her husband! So the game plan was to destroy the son who destroyed the lineage.
I know we don't connect with these character too much now days but there is a lot to learn from them. Because people like Drithrarasta exists, where a parent is so blind towards their child they don't teach right from wrong and give him or her whatever they want!
Then their are people who just can't speak up even though they know something wrong is occurring be it in a work environment or the family.
Then their are those that manipulate and step all over you...
Love everyone's post its totaling entertaining :)
