Good that you have separated this from the spoofs! Reviewing them was a bit confusing as I had to refer to what I was reviewing!😉

Ok, so I was searching for the thread in the Mahabharat forum...
ANd then I once again clicked the link, and it says, "Fan Fictions >> |}Kahani mere Mahabharat ki{".
So why this galactic drift?😛

Fan fictions are not allowed in mainstream forums, as per I-F rules. So after discussions w/ the mods, we agreed to this Hastinapur-Indraprastha settlement.

Don't worry, I'm not expecting a future Kurukshetra over this 😆

18. Krishna marries Rukmini

As Rukmini stepped out of the temple, wondering whether Krishna would actually appear, despite Parvati's assurances, suddenly Krishna appeared. He pulled Rukmini on to his chariot and sped off. Sishupala was the first to notice him and raised the alarm, and immediately, all of Jarasandha's armies arrived at the scene.

However, Balarama and the other 6 brothers arrived there right then, along w/ warriors like Satyaka & Hriddhika. They started taking on various rulers. Balarama got into a mace battle w/ Jarasandha. Kirtiman confronted Dantavatra, Sushena confronted Sishupala, Sammardhana battled Shalva, Bhadrasena confronted Paundrak, Rju confronted Kashi-raj, Bhadra confronted Viduratha, Satyaka fought Vinda and Hriddhika fought Anuvinda. Amidst all this, Rukmi managed to slip past the battle and pursue Krishna, vowing not to return to Kundinpur w/o Rukmini. Balarama & his brothers all won their battles w/ the various rulers, and Jarasandha had to concede. Shalva vowed to avenge Sishupala's humiliation one day, while Paundrak got depressed and returned to Paundra, where his subjects started a cult in his honor to celebrate... whatever. All rulers returned to their kingdoms in disgrace, while Sishupala vowed revenge. After he got home, his father died, and he became the ruler of Chedi.

Rukmi in the meantime caught up w/ Krishna, and both of them got into a fierce battle. However, Krishna got the better of him and destroyed his bow, his sword & finally captured him & shaved half his hair & other side mustache & released him. Balarama & his brothers returned and berated Krishna for humiliating his would be brother in law in that manner. They then took Rukmini back to Vidarbha, where Bheeshmaka happily gave her in marriage to Krishna. A few days later, Rukmini entered Dwarka and was welcomed by Devaki, Rohini and all her jethanis, and all of Dwarka celebrated 🥳

This part there were almost no changes, so I undesrtood this story crystal clear. What I didn't get was the characters.😆
Romaharshana- isn't he a sage? Father of Suta GOswami?
Was Vinda an ally of Jarasandha?😲
And how are Satyaka and Hridhika related to D1-D8?

I thought that Romaharshana was another enemy of Krishna, but re-reading SB, I realized that he was one that Balarama had killed, which is why he had to go into tapasya during the war. Okay, replaced him w/ Paundrak's buddy, Kashi-raj.

Vinda/Anuvinda were cousins of Krishna, who became his enemies due to his marriage w/ Mitravindya. So during the Kurukshetra war, they fought on the side of the Kauravas & were killed by either Arjun or Satyaki.

Satyaka & Hriddhika were fathers of Satyaki & Kritavarma, so gave them a fighting role here.

So Mitravinda was not at all bothered that her brothers were her husband's enemies? I don't know how many wives were like Rukmini!😕

Hm... Satyaka I have heard of, but Hriddhika I have come across only in your posts! Good! I never knew this!

Hm... so Kashiraj was defeated by Rju... good, so at least he'll have a reason to fight Krishna, rather than just blindly supporting his friend.

In the original story, her brothers didn't get to block Krishna like Rukmi did, and also, they didn't have daughters who to give to their nephews in marriage 🤔

Both Satyaki & Kritavarma are offen referred to in the Mahabharata as Satyaka's & Hridhika's son - that's how I knew. I don't know any actual stories about them.

Anyway, next part, Syamantaka gem, will be true to the original story, and then we'll return to Varnavarta.
